Jordin Tooto - any interest?

HABFANS - would we have any interest in pepperpot Jordin Tootoo? A little energy to go with some good 4th line energy already?

If so PREDSFANS, for what? Tootoo for Dags and a pick? I'd mention Hainsey, but he is taking his lumps in many proposals already

For Dagenais...sure! Dagenais can help many team but not us...our young players are just too good right now...

Tootoo and a 5th?

I'd say tootoo worth more than Dag. We have no room for Tootoo anyway. Dag only chance is on the 2nd line.

Tootoo would look awsome on our 4th line. I'm a huge fan of his, both for his personality and his entertaining fireball play. I'd have no problem giving Dagenais for him, but then again from my avatar you can probably figure I'd have no problem giving Dagenais for an half-eaten sandwich that's been rotting in the garbage can for a week either, so...

Seriously, I'd be ready to give much more than Dagenais (who I doubt any other team wants, he's only here because of his chemistry with Ribeiro) for Tootoo. I don't think there is a guy that better examplifies the meaning of the word "warrior" in this league (well ok, Koivu's coming back of cancer is hard to beat).

We don't need any 4th line forwards. We are stacked!

Dagenais and Sundstrom for Tootoo.. maybe Montreal throws in a pick
too. A line of Tootoo and Begin would be sick! Dagenais and Sundstrom can be replaced with Higgins on the second line and Plekanec on the third. Nashville probably wouldn't trade Tootoo though!

As much as I like him, we already have begin who is doing the same job than him. And with Plekanec and Higgins on this 4th line, we have no room for Tootoo !

But I would definately take him over Dagenais, but Preds fans won't ...

But we can trade Sundstrom (habs paid part of salary) + Hainsey (habs paid 1/3 of his salary) + Dagenais + for Tootoo and Hamhuis..

I'm not very good in proposal because of course i'm not objective but....

Begin and Tootoo on the 4th line, wow, that would be something to watch.

TooToo for Dags any day of the week, twice on weekends. Preds would more than Dags though. but, I`d definitely do it. Tootoo and Begin on the same line would be sweet

Why it is soooo hard to untherstand that Sundstrom is a really good defensive player , and that a team needs defensive players....

No offense, but you're not objective indeed. That package wouldn't get you Hamhuis' left skate. Your proposal is the equivalent of Nashville offering Johnson, Perreault and Franson for Komisarek and Begin (and even that one doesn't look as onesided as yours).

No, he is not a good player in any postion at the NHL level. He dosen't hit, dosen't break-up plays, dosen't score.. he does nothing! Well, unless you count giving the puck away to the other team.. he does that pretty well. Why do we need him? We have Bulis, Bonk, Begin, Higgins that ALL play a much better two-way game that Sundstrom. Therefore, he can his craptastic defensive crap and play elsewhere. I'd much rather have Tootoo...

I can't see Nashville trading Tootoo for anything less than a potential top 2 center. It may be as a part of a package as Tootoo alone wouldn't draw that, but they aren't going to do it for guys like Sundstrom or Dagenais. Those two would have little to no place on the Predators. I just can't see either of those two even making the Preds roster. Which wingers are they going to kick out? I guess Hall, but I doubt the Preds are going to want to replace him with a much less physical checking player in Sundstrom or an offensive minded guy in Dagenais.

Tootoo must have fallen quite a bit. I can remember WJC in Halifax he was the talk of the tourny. Weapons of mass destruction...

As I said before, I had Tootoo and Begin on my fantasy draft team in 2K5 for many seasons. I loved the line with MacCauley or Yelle as centre. I'm sure Bonk would work great on that line too.

However, the game has changed. Maybe a guy like Tootoo would be taking way too many penalties for the new game. I'd still trade Dags for him tho. I don't think Preds will get a 2nd line centre for him and neither should they want one - Perreault is doing fine, isn't he?

BTW, Hainsey should never ever be brought up in trade talk again. Any team could have had him a week ago for free and nobody wanted him.

They definitely want one. While Perreault has been good so far, his goals have been more as a result of Walker/Sullivan than anything else. He's winning faceoffs, and that's great. But he's not a long term solution by any stretch and will put us in a bad spot if he ever slumps. We have to hav a player that can consistently finish the plethora of chances that line will create. If we have a chance to upgrade that position, even if its long-term, we'll do it. Fortunately for Perreault, that chance has not come yet. If the Preds have a chance to land a player that would be a better fit, they'll do it.

He's a good player, and I don't want to come across as bashing him. But he's not exactly in our mold. He's not particularly a hard worker, fast, physical, or defensively minded. But he has been good at what he was brought in to do. Finish off the chances Sullivan and Walker create and win faceoffs. But there are plenty of chances that never develop because Perreault can't be there to make the play.

Personally, I think the Preds are going to move at least one of their wingers, maybe Tootoo as well, and possibly a Dman/prospect in exchange for a 2nd line center. Next year, players like Radulov and Upshall will likely be NHL ready. Of our top 9 wingers, there are some valuable ones who might be on the outside looking in come next year. And those that are will likely be a part of a package that brings us a center.

Actually, out of those players, only Bonk brings a better two way game, at least, with the way Sundstrom's been playing of late. Which brings me to think his last year might have been more of an off year then a decline of his skills, because he was damn fine when we first got him. Bulis is a very useless player when you think of it, he skates but thats pretty much it, he has no hands so he doesnt make many offensive plays, he doesnt hit either and his defensive play is very overrated. if theres a player expendable in my mind, its him. Higgins doesnt yet have the experience and Begin is good at what he does, which is hit and create havoc. Hes no defense specialist.
