Nah...the Caps don't need Seidenberg. They already have Eminger, Yonkman, & Cutta. Seidenberg may have a leg up on Eminger, but not by much. He played 58 games at 16:00 a game(ranked 7th on the flyer defense in ice time) and didn't play in the playoffs. The Caps do need a defenseman, but this move makes no sense at all for this season. If the Caps are going to make a deal for a defenseman, it will be for a veteran who can jump right in and play big minutes and carry respect. He will be a player on a one year or last year of his contract. There are a record number of those players that will be gotten for a lot less than what the Flyers want for Seidenberg and will be much more effective in the short run than Seidenberg. Its a nice thought, but IF the Caps trade for ONE defenseman this season, it will not be another inexperienced player like Seidenberg.
