Spezza's Nicknames

So far I've heard two interesting nicknames for Spezza:

Spezz Dispenser

-I kind of like this one in that it reflects his superior passing skills and on-ice vision. It was in Don Brennan's column.

"Either our own Maury Amsterdam (Chris Stevenson) or editor/headline writer Trevor Bunke deserves credit for coming up with a clever nickname for sensational puck passer Jason Spezza: The Spezz Dispenser. Either way, it's Sun property ..."

http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Columnists...57495-sun.html

Giggles

-Apparently he's always smiling and laughing so his teammates have hung this one on him

My boyfriend and I have called Spezza "The Spezz Dispenser" for a couple of years now. Sun property my ***.

My mom now calls him "Spizza" (sounds like Spits-a) since reading that column about his "problem"

I was hoping that they would call Meszaros the "Mez Dispenser", since, it's a lot easier to pronounce. I was also hoping that he would make a lot of stretch passes, so the name would be a logical fit.

I really dislike Brennan's hang-up with "nicknames."

Some are interesting but for the most part they are pretty juvenile. I have a hard enough time swallowing Chris Berman's schtick, let alone someone who writes for a local rag.

I always called him "the Captain" for his love of spiced rum and coke.

Murray: "C'mon Andrej, MORE shhtretch pashes..."

Mezsaros: "But I'm tired! And Redden is better at it..."

Murray: "Dammit, this nickname is going to shtick, or I'm not the Shenatorsh Head Coach!"

Or Spezzavlat.

Or Spezzime.

Or Spezzossa.

Or Spezzedsson.

Or Spezzonk.

Spezza not playing well in a playoff series hardly puts him in an exclusive club on the Senators. At least it was in the AHL.

Spetzky has always been my favourite. Spezz Dispenser isn't bad either.

what about the year before that? (in the NHL) or are you only compiling a list of things he doesn't do well (in the AHL)?
what is it with you? why do you have such a hate on for a guy who's turning into one of the best players in the league before out eyes?

its so weird...he hasnt ever let the Sens down yet ( and as a matter of fact, singlehadedly sent us to game 7 of the conference finals in the one year he was permitted to play) and here you are comparing him to the most reviled player in fanchise history.

what's your problem? you hate him so much you have to trash him in every post?

Its going to be a long year for you, waiting and hoping for him to fail.

I've been calling him the Pez Dispenser since forever. He reminds me of candy.

There was an article in the paper a week or two ago in which Emery was saying how Spezza gets excited when he talks and 'spits' all over the person he's talking to. Emery said he has to sit 20 feet away from Spezza when they're eating or he'll get food all over him.
