I meant that tongue in cheek to go along with my whole post.

As a side note, thanks to your incessant "Dallas is the best at everything" posts I actually picked Modano AND Morrow in my draft. I had a choice between Morrow and another player who was rated slightly better than Morrow (although Havlat was already taken ) but I took Morrow anyway. You'd better be right about them.....

Before you judge these gentlemen and one lady, check their records from last season.

http://espn.go.com/nhl/preview2002/s/predictions.html

Based on that exemplary performance I wouldn't put too much stock into what these folks say. A few of them, notably Melrose, are a few quills short of a porcupine.

They were great on the 2001-2002 season as well...

Maybe they should order a new crystal ball.

Of course! If it works out, Goodtime Barry can brag about what an astute hockey mind he is while reminding all the GMs that he's available to fill any coaching vacancies that might be out there. If not, the Mullet has plenty of time to attach himself to some team's bandwagon right before the playoffs start.

I don't think these guys actually WATCH very much hockey. Jesus, Melrose is a friggin' retard...I just about wet myself seeing that he picked the Rags to win the east not just once but twice in a row!

I believe the best picks for last year's Stanley Cup final were those of Nick Kypreos at the start of last season. San Jose vs NYRangers. Too many lobotomy scars showing on these analysts

And yes, ESPN as a whole is in the dark ages when it comes to hockey.
They're in the dark ages, but not because "only" 1 out of 10 guys picked someone from a team who will finish last in their division to win an award

Al Morganti had them losing to the Kings.

Linda Cohn is worse. She's picked the Rangers for 5 straight years and still thinks Lindros is the best ever.

To play Devils' Advocate, everyone would make fun of people who had Carolina in the Stanley Cup two years ago and Anahiem last year. Hell even putting those teams in the playoff would be considered a "reach".

Most predictions have two of these 6 teams in the finals: Ottawa, New Jersey, Colorado, Dallas, Vancouver, Detroit. So while going with the flow won't get you picked on, it's also pretty weak to predict what everyone already knows.

It's lose-lose with ESPN predictions

P.S. They are pretty retarded re: hockey

not what I was implying.

The dark ages was an unrelated comment responding to posts before mine.
