This kid would be a welcomed addition to your blue line..why he isn't cracking this D corps after leading their blue line in points and minutes played in pre season is beyong me!...Maybe Darcy has to justify his pickup of 37 year old Teppo and soft Fin Toni Lydman.......

That's a crowded blueline though is really the only problem I see.

Though if he clicks and it means moving Purinton and Poti, I'm open to it.

Nothing has happened yet with Jilly

Quote:
The Buffalo Sabres held off on making a roster move Thursday, choosing to temporarily delay the return of forward Adam Mair off injured reserve.

Sabres coach Lindy Ruff on Wednesday said the club "in all likelihood" would waive a player to clear a spot for Mair on the 23-man roster, but after Thursday morning's skate Ruff declined to give Mair the green light against the Tampa Bay Lightning

Ruff previously dismissed the possibility the Sabres would trade one of their three goalies to make room for Mair, but that might have changed when the Atlanta Thrashers lost another netminder Wednesday night

The leading candidate to get waived appears to be defenseman Jeff Jillson. He also has been a healthy scratch for all five games. He has a two-way contract, meaning he would receive a minor-league paycheck instead of his $833,910 NHL salary if he clears waivers.

Ruff previously had noted Jillson sustained a quadriceps injury at the end of preseason but on Thursday said that, if needed, "Jeff would be ready to play

Ill pass with Jillson, ive seen him quite a few times and he never left me as impressed. I'd rather just keep the defense we have in tact rather then add another anyway.

Not against it. I think Jillson is a good young player. But it does mean we'll have to make another roster move. And right now of the obvious choices on D I'm happy with how Drats is playing and I wouldn't want it to be him. Strudwick could move to spare forward I suppose or be waivered and if not claimed sent down. As for Poti and Lundmark we would have to find buyers for them real quick.

http://www.hfboards.com/showthread.p...17#post3701117 Jillson on waivers. Sather loves grabbing talent for free. It wont shock me if Sather grabs Jillson and deals Poti Lundmark and maybe lampman for another young player. Jillson has size and has a hard shot and is a righty. Oh and he is young. And is from RI which is close to NYC. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/...ame=nhl-sabres Come on Sather grab him. Was Sather intrested in him before?

Lydman is doing okay, if not exactly excellent, has 4 assists and is +1. He's adapting to Buffalo, he'll be okay as soon as he stops making risky plays in his own zone.

Numminen does look old out there sometimes. Players say he's a great lockerroom guy though, a good mentor to younger guys.

I like Jillson, but not sure he'd be an upgrade on the Rangers' D, especially if Roszival plays like he did in 2002 for the Pens.

As I was telling JOrt earlier, he's a waste of a roster space. Why not just keep Poti of you're going to pick up Jillson.

Jillson has definitely been a dissapointment, but he still has a lot of talent. I don't know how I would feel is Sather claims him.
