Is this common? Or is it rare enough that me might think the Comrie situation is about to come to some kind of end?
I'm just wondering if there's something to it, or if other teams start the year with a 22-man roster.
Many teams do not keep the full 23 man roster at the NHL level. This is usually done to save $ (don't pay guys a NHL salary to sit in the press box), or to get younger players playing time in the minors instead of wasting away in the press box.
