It's funny how some NYI fans were saying that Parrish is equal to Handzus....
50 shots on goal!

Esche has been solid, but not challenged much. No hope on the goal.

Plus Caron's unworldly save last night.

Special teams: PP 2 for 12, PK 6 for 7

So Gagne and Forsberg now lead the NHL in goals and assists.

Clearly this team his having huge problems holding leads but playing against the Isles shouldn't be a problem.

Flyers 5
Isles 1 - Yes Esche has a rebound game and surprises many here.
I don't wan to brag but.

The best game yet. They played hard for 60 minutes and it showed.

yep, best game yet for the flyers. god I love having Forsberg on my team.

Not sure Brashear won that fight - got nailed in the eye pretty hard. Brash did crack Goddard in the cheek a lot harder - just no blood.

Excellent game for the Flyers. This is the way they can play when they're on top of their game, a dominant performance. The best part about it was, they didn't lose their legs halfway through the game and blow it.

The usual suspects were strong; Gagne, Forsberg, Richards, etc. There wasn't a single Flyers' player out there who had a poor game, all of them were pretty good. Savage finally got a goal, but he could have had more. The person who compared him to Tony Amonte was pretty much right on.

Esche was very solid. The goal he allowed was not his fault. There was a shot from the point which hit the back boards behind the net, and deflected perfectly out to York who was camped out on the open side of the net. Really not chance. Esche made a couple of great saves; once on an odd man rush early he snapped a very nice glove hand save, and later he stoned Blake on a breakaway. This is the way Esche can play, and it was a bounce back game for him. Let's hope he can build on this.

I would trade Esche for a new FOrsberg hockey stick. Forsberg has only one stick. I saw the stick rack opening night. Esche is a larger goalie than Nittymaki. Esche is big and just trys to get into position and hopes he mkaes the save. Unlike Nittymaki who works for his saves.

positional efficiency makes any goalie good. esche is adjusting to the new angles and 1.5 years off. give him a break, Nitty hasn't been much better either.

Carter and Richards both had points tonight. Richards actually had two, would have had three if Savage could have buried his breakaway chance. But, it's good to see Carter finally get on the board. Perhaps this will get the monkey off his back.

Solid. The Islanders got very little good scoring chances. Their best chance was a breakaway by Jason Blake that he got when he stepped out of the penalty box at the right time, and Esche gobbled that up. The defense was very good.

Godard won the fight, looking at the replay on slow-mo Brashear didn't connect with many punches and most of that landed hit Godard in the helmet/back of the head.

Gorard got the best of the punches in early and tagged Brashear hard to the corner of left eye opening him badly.

Great fight otherwise, best of the year so far.

Disagree, I thought Brashear won. Just because you bleed doesn't measn you lost the fight.

It's a tough call on this fight, but Brashear got some really good shots in. I think if there was no cut, this wouldn't even be a discussion.
