Bye Bye, Brett. I never liked him for a single minute of his career, but jeez that guy could score

I'd have him in my top 5, probably 4th as well .... behind Gretzky, Lemieux and Bossy.

The only time I saw Brett Hull in person, it was 1986 and he was a Moncton Golden Flame.

In retrospect that team was loaded with future NHLers including Gary Roberts,
Randy Burridge, Bob Sweeney, Wade Campbell, etc.

Yet, Hull stood out for the most ridiculously quick release I"d ever seen
and a knack for drifting in and out to find passing lanes for feeds.

I had no idea that he'd become the golden Brett. He was mostly a novelty to see then, being Bobby's son.

Then again, not many scouts had any idea whom he'd become either.

Bravo, Brett

Brett Hull was one of the most dangerous players I have seen in my life. On the PP, he was absolutely lethal with Oates, Janney and Modano. I still remember many Hull goals, where he'd go down on one knee while he unloaded on a bullet.

Brett Hull, you were an amazing player! Best of luck in retirement!

I'll miss the quotes.

Pretty tough to live up to your father's legend when you're the son of Bobby Hull...but he did.

Enjoy your retirement Brett.

I think I still have a torn up poster of him in my garage from the GT snowracers.

I hated the guy, but he was one hell of a goalscorer.
