Davisian, Motion to Eff granted. Consider me properly effed. I should have left it at "Hello all", I opened myself up for these when I tried to name everyone.
Bluenote - last night was Gabby's first game back. 2 helpers. He should be fun to watch in today's NHL.
Melrose- Seriously. Marc Chouinard. You can't stop him, you can only hope to contain him! At least for now anyway.
Melnyk- I haven't succumbed to anything so far. I just said I like what I see. I'll be right there beside you to help tee off on the next doorknob who suggests that we should have re-signed Lindros and coaxed Messier into playing another year. And yes, Sather still is a Jackass.
Damn, you're another one who went MIA, how it goes?
Oh I've been around here mostly browsing and reading. I moved out to Cali about half a year ago to start working and hence it's alot harder to follow hockey out here when the games start while I'm still sitting in my cube.
That and I just couldn't spring myself to get Center Ice again, I'm still rather bitter about the whole lockout.
If you've ever met her and talked her, she's one of the people when pressed for their reasoning starts to crumble.
It doesn't matter what your beliefs are, religious-athiest, left-right, conservative-liberal: don't open your mouth unless you can at least make a point in a coherent conversation.
The the biggest problem with my fellow Gen-X'ers. We like to scream and shout and be vocal but when pressed for logic we sit there with the dear in headlights. More than the baby boomers we love the "appearance" of intelligence and act like we've somehow figured out something that no other generation seems to "get" and we've learned to market it very well.
You're lucky if we we're still over at Rivals I would have banned you for forgetting the clown.
Damn it's been a long time since the Rivals board was mentioned around here. Never knew it but it must have been good.
*Eyes unfocusing* How well I remember the night all you Rivals cats showed up here. It was like the 82nd Airborne parachuting in or something. Anybody recall which one of you started the "Did Everyone Make It?" thread that night?
I'm looking at this thread and all these strangers who obviously know each other writing variations on "ready for duty, sir!" and I'm thinking, "Now what the **** is THIS?"
Hello to everyone, especially the old guard (jas, melrose, Fletch, Singin', Brook, Melnyk, JR and the rest). Haven't been around much due to a combination of professional business and technical difficulties, but I've been watching.
Caught opening night on OLN, it was a beautiful thing.
Man is it good to have hockey back. Love the rule changes.
And I like what I'm seeing with the Rangers so far. What a difference. All the pre-lockout such seems a distant memory. I now think of Neil Smith more as an OLN broadcaster than our former GM.
I'll be checking in regularly, and chipping in from time to time.
And I'm following the action tonight....(oh eff you, Yashin).
I've seen a lot more Western Conference stuff because of where I am, I suppose those of you without OLN won't get to see much of that because of the schedule.
Three guys I've been real impressed with are Dion Phaneuf, Keith Ballard and Pierre-Marc Bouchard

Actually, I remember posters like Fletch (who went by the handle JF, if I'm not mistaken), and Singin' from the board at Slam. A lot of people got tired of the childish behavior from many posters and started searching out other boards.

LOL. Greetings, brother. I, too, am a Slam refugee.
You guys are bringing back memories. I believe that I came across the old Rivals board shortly before its demise. I needed something to keep me busy at college!

Wonder how long this one holds up.
Couldn't stand SLAM, it's like arguing against a tidal wave of ignorance.
Little know fact, The Taylor's actually first found me in an AOL chat room answering questions. We talked for a while and eventually I became a writer here.
I haven't been in an aol hockey chat in....gosh....years.

Slam was the first hockey board I came across and the only good thing I can say about it was that it convinced me that there had to be something better out there. Then I found Gameday (which became rivals I think) and here I've been ever since.
As for who started the first thread here dedalus, seems to me that I it might have been Davisian or Melrose Jr who started it.
