Garon Sucks

Until the Kings go out and get a goaltender, they are never really going to enjoy regular success ..

and while i am at it .. their defence looks slow ...

Hmmm... five shots with 3 goals. That's what, a 60% scoring percentage. Not bad, for the Avalanche. Where's the defense? Where's the offense? Is it all Garon?

Yes one bad game and both suck =) you are genious. This being said please put Labarbera in for the rest of the game Garon is truly not doing well today. Just alone Labarbera's body would of blocked all those shots due to his size.....

This thread is lame - for now.

The first goal was a soft one. The other 2 - not. He was screened and Blake scored on the power play for the second goal and the D hung him out to dry on essentially a 2 on 1 for the 3rd.

Why is it lame? I'm listening on the radio. I can't see the goals, I can't see the offense and the defense set up...or not. I'm wondering why Garon is letting the pucks through. Thanks for your response, but I don't think the thread is lame...yet.

well i am watching it (centre ice) and Garon just looks lost ... it is scary that DT pinned the Kings hopes on this guy ... yes the season is young but now is the time to pick up as many points as possible and this guy is not cutting it at this point

He's playing too deep in his net. Is that normal for him?

playing deep in your net is not necessarily bad if you have the reflexes to make up for it ...

garon just looks awkward and this is not the only game where he has looked that way ...

What separates intelligent fans from ignorant ones is that an intelligent fan will say that a well-regarded player is sucking; an ignorant fan will say that a player sucks. There's a big difference.

Well, if it's any comfort to you guys, Nabokov is doing the same thing--given up 4 goals on 5 Minnesota shots in the 3rd (game was tied at the start of the period).

Philadelphia gives up goaltending woes to Los Angeles in exchange for the injury bug by trading Chechmanek in 2003.

So easy to lay blame on the goalie and/or the coach now isn't it? Sorry, but none of those goals Garon gave up were soft. They were either well placed shots, or he was hung out to dry, the Sakic goal being both a well placed shot and being hung out to dry. Take a look at what the other players on the ice are doing for the Kings, then just the goalie. And non of this, "The Avs scored on their 1st shot." crap. It's not the quantity of shots, it's the quality of shots.

Garon's problem has always been his confidence. However, when he's confident, he's just incredibly hard to beat.

Many goaltenders are having problems right now. In Montreal, Theodore isn't looking good either, giving softies everytime he's out there and not feeling confident at all. He seemed to have gotten his groove back in the third period of last game, but that was his 6th game already. Brodeur is shaky as well. Nabokov's not looking too good, and so on.

I think LA's putting too much pressure on its goaltending so early in the year. Give it 20 games before throwing the towel already.
