Joel Theriault had 573 PIM in the Q one year. That's the highest I can remember.

Brian McGrattan ... currently of the Ottawa Senators ... 551 PIM's last year for Binghampton (AHL record) ... would be my guess.

I stand corrected.

He almost got that illusive MISCONDUCT PER GAME average, LOL!!!

M-A Roy, Baie Comeau, 2003, 653 PIM

In a minor league, he had 117 PIM...IN 6 GAMES.

He's playing in the LNAH this year, tallying up PIM like Gretzky tallied up points in Peewee...

Wow, 1085 PIM in just 126 QMJHL games. That Roy guy must have taken a lot of penalties. Or something.

That's absolutely crazy. 9.6 PIM per game.

Some of the stats for the LNAH are crazy. You'll se guys with 20 GP and 250+ PIM.

Roy has the junior record at 653.

Ex San Jose Shark Kevin Evans has the minor-pro record at 648 PIM with the IHL Kalamazoo Wings in 1986-87. Somehow he found the time to score 50 points that season as well.

NHL record is Dave Schultz at 472.

Wow, 50 pts and 648 PIM!?

I guess the penalty box is a good place to rest between shifts

There were 419 penalty minutes handed out in that game.

So, that's an average of just over 11mins a player.
