I dont think he has been "sucking", but yes he has been iviseble for the most part... A goal and assist is fine with me up to this point but I do expect him to pick up the slack...

He hasn't sucked -- though he has paled in comparison to his reputation on these boards. He'll put it all together yet, no worries.

As of right now he is playing with Dumont and Briere, up until this point it was with Grier and Drury...

He's been horrible, no effort whatsoever.

Anyone who wants to bench Vanek and is overlooking Hecht's no show this year is nuts.

He still is one of the team's best penalty killers and do any of us really know if he may have a nagging injury that isn't being disclosed???

I can't ***** too much about him...he'll be fine.

I can't speak to a nagging injury, but there is the new child in the house and a new deal that may've made him a little more complaicent. I think he'll be fine too. He had a few uncharacteristic giveaways tonight and he looks like he's pressing pretty hard. If they can get him clicking with anyone, I think he can get back on the Drury-Grier line and spark 'em. There were a few signs he and Briere were up to their old tricks tonight -- maybe a few more games and he'll be back to form.

I don't think it's a lack of effort, but you just barely notice him it seems.

I still think he's got a slight nagging injury or something.

IMHO, Drury and Grier are bringing him down. He excels at digging in the corners and chipping in with playmakers. Drury and Grier are not playmakers. As I stated in my musings, I'd like to see him paired with Connolly.

edit:

Hecht-Connolly-Afinogenov
Kotalik-Drury-Grier

I think Big Al is finally gelling a little with Max and Timmah -- I'd be hesitant to move him.

Vanek-Briere-Hecht -- you want playmakers, you got 'em, Brotha!

Hecht played at least a good chunk of the last game with Briere and Dumont.

if his plus/minus is good fine...he is contributing...but not on the scoreboard...he has this week to show me what he can do, and if its true he is with briere (cause drury is sucking too) then i expect him to be on the scoresheet.

Make up your mind here, will ya? Does he "suck" (as you say), or is he "average to above average in most points of his game" (as you say). Where I'm from, average to above average is hardly sucky. I've been on record as saying that he's overrated on these boards, but I can't sit here and say that he sucks.

id like to see the Dumont/Hecht swap too. if only for a few games. Jochen has played very well with Drury-Grier. He just cant get the offensive side of his game going on that line.

If you're expecting him to be the savior of your fantasy team, pick up someone else...
