It's also useful to say, the Rangers have played twice as many games a 1/3 of the teams and 2 more games than another 1/3 of the teams.

Call Geico.

Anyway, stats are pretty meaningless at this point, as you so astutely pointed out.

I'm still encouraged by how competitive we are. We all knew there would be growing pains.

Yea, I think the reason to be happy is not about the wins and losses or even the number of goals scored and assists completed. It's the complete turn-around this team has made.

Considering on the Capitals have given up more goals, I will take that 8 game championship.

Something's really wrong there, but having only watched a period of Pens hockey, I'm not able to say what it is. It seems impossible that T-Bo, Caron and Fleury all have forgotten how to tend goal, so I'm going to vote for an inept or poorly constructed defense. Speaking from experience, that's not something that's a quick fix.

Hate to say it but...

...its Eddi O

Although coaching in Pitt is/will be difficult for anyone (Mario)...I just don't think Eddi O is the man for the job.

For me it really comes down to two words: "HARD WORK". Yeah they have been sloppy the last few games. Yeah Weekes was well.....kinda weak last night. Yeah Fedor reminded us all that he is only 22 not 32. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. Bottom line they were in that game last night right up to the last fraction of a second. They never gave up, never folded. I never worried that they were done. I knew they would come back, and give the fish fits.....and they did.

Jagr is clearly into his game again. He is having fun, smiling even. The defense actually looked quite competent in about half our games. The kids are just begining to show us glimmers of their potential. Moore is solid. Along with Jed, he is becoming a very effective, even dangerous threat on the PK. Ward has been a pleasent surprise, Hossa even more so. Prucha has me giddy with his upside when taking the new rules in account. Henke!!!!!!!

Renney, well what can I say? Renney has only been able to do what all who came before him failed to do: create a TEAM So far EVERY game I've watched has been a blast, and it is actually fun to be a Ranger fan again. The hard work is just so nice to watch. I feel like a proud poppa.

Slats go light yourself a big fat cigar. 'Nuff said

Just like i view law, PR and any venture I am in.

Let me look back on it when I'm far into it and see how it's going, to celebrate at the begining just doesn't work.

No one is celebrating or prancing the Cup up and down B'way. A month ago the NYR were the worst team in hockey. Any signs that the NYR are not the worst team in hockey is good enough for me.

Don't forget that at the moment the Rangers are...

NUMBER 1 IN THE EASTERN CONFERENCE!

Nevermind the fact that we've played more games than anyone else. President's Trophy here we come.

Well then let's focus on what we do know. This version of the New York Rangers is the hardest working team we've had in a very long time. On top of that they are winning more than they are losing. Three weeks ago all the "experts" picked our guys to finish dead last. May still happen but for right now I'm happier than hell that the guys are confounding the hell out of knuckle heads like McGuire, Clement, etc.. To me this isn't some "business venture", it's my team, one of my passions. I'm not going to let the derision of the past keep me from saying that I'm proud or that I'm having a great time watching all these guys work their tails off game in and game out. The Rangers get so much crap when they screw up, they deserve a few attaboys right now.

It's finally fun to watch the Rangers play hard and compete every time they play. It's nice to silence the naysayers even if its only for the start of the season. All we can ask for is that they keep playing the type of hockey they are and be happy with the result so far.
