let's go ahead and get this out of the way on it's own thread..
attendance.. of course
everyone might as well quit *****ing...it's what it is and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out
1)we have sold slightly more than 10,000 full season tickets
2)we have sold roughly 1500 21 games packs
3)we have sold roughly 1500 11 game rivals packs
4)we have sold roughly 1500 other 11 game packs
5)we can expect roughly 2000 walkups on the average weekend night
6)we can expect roughly 1000 walkups during weeknights
7)add maybe 1000 walkups on weekend nights (3000 total therefore) or roughly 500 more on weeknights(1500) when we are playing exceptionally well..
8)subtract about 1000 walkups on weekend nights (1000 total therefore) or 500 less on week nights( or roughly 500 total) when we are playing poorly
this means that attendance is very, very predictable
there are something like 23 weekend games and 18 weekday games at home this year..
1)for about 14 weekend games, we will have:
...10000 base season ticket holders + the 4500 partial holders + 2000 odd walkups... or roughly 16500+, sellouts or near selllouts
2)for about 7 weeknight games we will have:
..10000 season + 4500 partials + 1000 odd walkups or roughly 15500
3)for about 9 weekend games(the ones without partials included) we will have:
..10000 season ticket holders + 2000-3000 walkups.. or roughly 13000(like last night)
4)for about 11 weeknight games(the ones without partials included) we will have:
...10000 season + 1000-2000 walkups...or roughly 12000( like thursday night)
so gripe all we want,we know exactly what we're getting... we're going to average about 14,500-15,500 this year..not great, but about 2000 more than we averaged in 03-04.. this will be the second highest ticket increase per game in the league this year(pittsburgh will beat us)...
this isn't magic here...we all knew we had to fix this attendance thing..what we have to do is continue to grow full season ticket sales, this is the baseline number that determines what attendance will be of course... another push this year, and we should grow fulls back to roughly 12k next season which would eliminate this discussion entirely
the shame of it all is,is this is all people will talk about now that we're so successful on ice...but again, this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone with a brain
We've got all the season ticket holders we'll get unless and until the corporations get behind the team. I believe Poile will make headway with corporate ticket holders. The hire of the Titans guy was a good first move. Continued work is mandentory. We single ticket season ticket holders can not be expected to contiue to be the total support for the team. The newspaper is NOT helping much. Look at the paper today. How many articles on Titans are in it? How amny articles on Preds Sunday morning. The press and corporate America is NOT supporting our preds. The upper bowl was 85-90% full Saturdau night. Bench side lower bowl 35-40% full. Box side lower bowl 25-30% full. Club level 20% full. The sale of higher priced tickets is PITFUL. I'd hate to think how bad it would be IF Nashville was say 4-3 or 3-4 (which we could very well be).
