The power Rankings done by TSN (LINK TO PR) Have placed Ottawa 1st overall AGAIN!! What do you think of that.

Being a Sens fan for about 12 years, I can confidently say that the Regular Season means nothing! It's all about what happens come springtime.

Ah, the heck with it.

I'll come out and say that I'm glad to see it. Yeah, I know, only playoffs matter, regular season means nothing, they need to show they can do it when it counts, but, it is still nice to see this team continue to get recognized for the talented team that they are.

If only the playoff matter then how come we're watching hockey in october?

Come on, this doesn't mean much but it reflects the fact we've seen some excellent hockey over the past 3 weeks. Take the opportunity to appreciate it.

I have to admit I've been pretty impressed with the Leafs so far, particularly guys like Lindros and Kaberle.

I think the value of Allison and McCabe is currently overrated due to the Toronto powerplay, but they have certainly performed in that role quite admirably.

I predicted they would make the playoffs quite easily this season and I've seen no reason to think otherwise. Belfour will get back into form and they'll be on track.

I have been conditioned by other fans on these boards that anything the Sens do before the playoffs is irrelevant, unless they are underachieving.

Also, I think I have been spoiled by the countless lists by countless writers with the Sens atop them.

But in the end, I am very glad they are so good... because it's fun to just watch them play hockey.

You're absolutely right.

Here's a simple rule to employ as a Sens fan:

Upon seeing a very nice goal, defensive play or save by our goalie, ask yourself the following:

"Am I watching a playoff game?"

If the answer is YES, then cheer accordingly.

If the answer is NO, then shake your head with grim exasperation and mutter, "Let's see that when it counts."

Repeat ad infinitum.

Considering we only played ONE GAME since the last rankings, and we won it we could hardly slip. That being said, who the heck makes our schedule? It seems like every year we have a week and a half early where we never play, only to play tons of back to backs later on.

Impressed or surprised? While you did say you think they'd make the playoffs (and I agree) I still have this feeling that they're playing against the clock.

I'm half impressed/half surprised.
