After lurking for two year, I have finally decided to make an account. Came back a few months ago from travelling the world and now I am currently either punching the air, in frustration or elation because of the Jets.

I am Guardian17.

I was born and raised in Winnipeg.

Grew upon a steady diet of AWA and WWF Wrestling, Transformers and comic books.

Left for school.

Made my triumphant return to Winnipeg two years ago.

Here's the footage in case you missed it!

Thai Jet here. I can see the Sea of Siam from my window which puts me 12 time zones ahead of the Peg. Most games played while having breakfast. Retired expat living the life. Long time Jet fan. How long? I remember going to the old Winnipeg Arena and booing Bobby Clarke when he was a 16 year old Flin Flon Bomber playing the Junior Jets.

Streetheart, easily on that one. Even the Stones gave that one to Streetheart in an interview.

I'll admit though I'm partial to it, grade 11, a girl named Tracy...

Did someone say something??

Seriously, though, don't worry about that. It takes a little time sometimes to get traction around here. Most noobies who get attention right away are **** disturbers and they don't end up being around long enough to enjoy it.

I'm one of the token Frenchies on this board, which means I inherently know how to play hockey, and am a natural goalie...

I'm also usually irritable, and like to argue, or disagree. Luckily this is a good forum for it...

I am a diehard Jets fan, used to go to the old Jets games. I can honestly say that the worst year of my life was the year the Jets left, and perhaps it was spurious, perhaps not. Became a Habs fan in their absence, but the hometown pride never subsides.

When the Jets came back, I was down on Portage and Main with my stick, and got a TSN jersey from Sara Orlevsky, for my efforts. I gave the jersey away to a foster kid, however, who played on my ball hockey team.

Got my first Jets jersey this year, Blake Wheeler, and just got the old Jets Goals for Kids patch stitched on it...I am always ready for a good old hockey game. And I can talk about hockey.

Welcome aboard.

I'm one of the only Ontario born Jets fans in the world.

There's literally dozens of us!

Nobody in my family understands why I chose the Jets. I barely understand, either.

Jay, from Germany, 23 years old.

Started to love hockey when I was 6, Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg from the DEL have been my favourite team ever since.

Started following the Thrashers because Ilya Kovalchuk was my childhood hockey idol (for his shot, nothing else), made the transition to the Jets and have loved them ever since.

I work as a newspaper journalist in Wolfsburg, so writing on hockey is where I make my money.

Because I also play hockey in the 3rd Division in Germany, of course , everything I say is of special significane. And then again, maybe it isn't

LOL - I am also one of the token "frenchies"! From the Gaspe peninsula, although I'm not inherently good at hockeying. I played it, even so far as to try out for the MMJHL. Just not good enough, though.

I also have a "Goals For Kids" patch!

I'm 40, at the weird age of realizing I am now older than 99.6% of NHL players. I grew up in rural Manitoba, and have been living in Winnipeg for the past 20 years. For a brief time in 1982 I lived in St. Paul AB, which is a bit north of Edmonton. The town was Oilers and Gretzky crazy. When I was questioned (as new kids are) by classmates about important things like "do you like Star Wars, do you like the Oilers" I answered yes to the former but declared to the latter "I'm from Manitoba, I like the Jets". Which was funny because I would watch hockey (my Dad was a Leafs fan) but I didn't cheer for anyone, maybe I was feeling homesick or I already disliked Alberta hockey fans haha. After that I became absolutely Jets crazy, and my hatred of the Oilers would grow with each playoff meeting between the 2 teams. I didn't get to see my first Jets game until 1992, vs the Sharks.

When the Jets 1.0 left for the desert devestated doesn't even describe how I felt. I hoped and remained optimistic we would some day get a team back, shrugging off any and all who would tell me it was impossible and would never happen again. But then the rumours started circulating around 2009....then May 31st 2011....the announcement!!! I bought 2 half-season tickets with a buddy. My only regret is my Dad died soon after the very first game, I was planning on taking him to see his Leafs later in the inaugural season. Although he'd probably be happy not to see the sad state they are in now haha.
