GDT: Nashville @ Columbus (Game 9) 10/26 6:00 CST

first things first,let me get this one started.

CLB only 2-7, so you know their stats suck;

1.89 goals scored per game(last)
3.56 goals alolowed per game(23rd)
even strength they're last in the league in goals scored/goals given up ratio(0.53)
pp % has been the worst in the league(30th)
pk has been much better 83.8% (13th)
good faceoff team, 51.6%(7th)

of course none of this matters tonight, as you know they're sitting in ambush for this one...been announced nash might be back saturday...wouldn't surprise me at all to see him skate tonight

see where mason was told by trotz that they'd be told on the plane who got the start tonight.. i expect mason to get the call

with markov and walker definitely out...surprised we haven't seen a callup yet for walker for a week(could have put him on the IR and backdate it till last saturday)...
would like to see upshall recalled for a few games personally, just not sure gamache can get it done yet..

should be a fun one,remember it starts an hour earlier than we're used to

Preds-Jackets game are always fun and you never know what is going to happen.

Nashville might rip them up, then again we could score 2 goals on their own goaltender and then lose by 2, ah memories...

Tonight will be extremely tough. I have a bad feeling about this one. The only other game I had a bad feeling about was the second StL game. We've had the target on our backs for several games, but there's nothing like the target on our backs when we play Chicago and Columbus.

It's really not a good two game stretch to be missing Walker and Markov. I agree that I would love to see Upshall called up for tonight and Saturday. I'd feel a little more comfortable with him over Gamache, especially considering that they aren't going to hesitate to sit Walker for longer than a week, if needed.

if I were Columbus, I'd have the players watch the tape of last night's game and tell them to duplicate what Chicago did, because it will be hard for us to win tonight playing two games like that against division rivals on back to back nights.

I think the biggest key for the Preds tonight is to really focus hard on defensive discipline and positioning, so they can avoid the little dinky penalties. There will be a lot of physical roughing/fighting penalties tonight and defensive focus will make the difference between killing 4-5 pp's and 12-13.

I never have and never will like these home & away back to back games against divisional opponents ... familiarity breeds contempt, is all that needs to be said

Here's hoping that Columbus is so anxious to knock us off our pedestal that they take alot of dumb penalties. That is assuming we can keep out of the box tonight.

Isn't it Toranto that has the 10 game undefeated streak record. If so, there is nobody I'd reather knock off of that record. I'm not a big Toranto fan. Smack Domi in the eye!!!

http://www.nhl.com/scores/previews/140_2_preview.html ... 93-94 version of the Leafs ...

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/l...000381994.html

a 31 year old Dave Andreychuk potted 53 goals for that team ... Wendel Clark lit the lamp 46 times ... Doug Gilmour had 84 assists

I try to respect the history of the game

nope ... we're just resting him this year on the back end of back to back games especially against bad teams, especially when he's probably going to the olympics as starter or backup for Team Czech

Johnson is out with a foot injury, which is why Fids was called up.

crap..i don't like playing columbus for the first time with three starters on the shelf... especially could hurt us on the pk, thank god columbus has struggled on the pp

if it were me, and johnson is really out tonight, i'd go with something like this;

kariya-legwand-hartnell
erat-perreault-sully
stevenson-nichol-hall
gamache-fiddler-hordichuk

pk1)sully-nichol
pk2)fiddler-hartnell
pk3)legwand-hall (and hope we don't spend enough time in the box to even have to have three units)

i still don't see any link showing johnson out with a foot injury, the guy skated our last shift last night and 3 minutes out of the last 6 (not denying it's a fact, but where are you getting it?)
