Call ups?

"Ruff said the team may call up one or two players from Rochester."

Who's it gonna be? IMO, Roy is a definite. Does Pominville take Grier's roster spot (obviously not his checking role)? Jilson in for Lydman?

I hope they bring up Roy and Pominville and send Pyatt down.

Whats the deal with Lydman? I would rather have him in over Jilson.

Can't really find a comprehensive injury report, but:
Pyatt's concussed. Lydman out with a groin injury. Grier sounds day-to-day with a hip flexor.

Roy and Jillson.

Jillson...We need another d-man available with Lydman out.

Roy... with Grier out we need a defensively capable forward. Pominville would be a good choice if we were missing someone off the powerplay.

I can't see how you would not want to bring up Pominville for Pyatt.

Pominville is putting pucks in the net and Pyatt hasn't showed me anything this year.

One would likely be Roy, since he can play centre or wing and they can flip Hecht or Kotalik to RW if necessary. If it comes down to it... the other could be Thorburn if they want more size and sand in the lineup to replace Pyatt and Grier being out.

Did anyone ever find out how many games Roy can play before he has to clear waivers to go back down? I believe it was either 1 or 26.

Waiver rules were re-written in the new CBA, it's no longer based on games played but on seasons of service. He's exempt from waivers for the remainder of the year.

(AND) with the new CBA Pominville must go through waivers before getting called up...this could hurt his chances since im sure Buffalo doesnt want to lose him!

I Say derek gets the call since there is no waiver worries

(Im a habs fan but i follow Roy and Poimnville cause they are personal favs. of mine)

Pominville doesn't have to clear to come back up. Only those players making more than $75K AHL salary have to clear on the way back. Going back down however, I believe he would have to again clear, depending on what the new waiver rules are for injury recall, etc...
