Lehoux for Semin?

The Kings can't be happy with Lehoux, while the Caps are sueing Semin. Should we swap our pain in the @ss for theirs?

One pain for another? Pass. We need team players. Besides, who knows if Semin will ever return from Russia.

no way in hell we get senib for lehoux ..... not even close.. maybe for tambellini, Kanko or Boyle ... dont think we would trade tukonen or grebs ... heres what is more realistic ..

To Los Angeles: Alexander Semin, 5th round pick
To Washington: Brian Boyle, 2nd maybe 3rd round pick

I'd be hesitant to trae someone like Boyle. I mean look at his upside.

More likely, I could see maybe Lehoux for Hilbert.

Semin would be more expensive, most likely someone like Tambellini.

Even if it's one pain in the *** for another... you do not... I repeat, DO NOT turn down an offer of Semin for Lehoux. Kings should take that and run away laughing.

Hilbert has until Dec. 1 to get signed on with an NHL team then it's wait until next season. I don't believe Lehoux is eligible for the NHL this season having played in Europe after the NHL season started...[edit] given the recent developments involving Lehoux and recalling some of the articles regarding Datsyuk in Russia it appears that players that played in Europe after Oct 5th have to clear waivers before they can join their NHL club...

So, any team dealing for Lehoux would have to be looking down the line at this point...

Grebs continues to struggle and had another inconsistant game in Bridgeport last night. Jeff Jillson is playing in Rochester right now for the Sabres AHL affiliate the Americans. He's seen a fair amount of NHL time over three seasons after leaving Michigan to sign with San Jose. I guess what I'm trying to say is that when you look down the Kings pipeline there isn't much depth for defensemen and there isn't much expected (draft picks) anytime soon. If they're going to trade Lehoux, which is probably a good thing at this point, I'd like to see a d-man coming back in the deal even if it's Lehoux and [fill in a name] for [fill in an offensive d-man]....

I don't think anyone even realized that he was on waivers

At least now he has the chance to play for Phoenix and really bite the Kings hard

From the story:

The Coyotes claimed center Yannick Lehoux off waivers Saturday morning. Lehoux, 23, was under contract with Los Angeles but playing in Europe because of a contract dispute with the Kings. He is expected to join the team Sunday in Chicago, and a decision regarding his immediate future with the organization will be made then. Lehoux notched 54 points in 38 games while playing in the American Hockey League during the lockout.

When the hell did the Kings get Lehoux under contract?

I thought that players that played in Europe after the start of the NHL season weren't going to be eligible to come back and play this season? I read something about this when Datsyuk was having his dispute...

has long has I know, his contract ended last june, if the kings sign him, they did it very quietly

in fact, Restricted Free Agents who do not sign contracts by December 1 will be ineligible to play in the League for the balance of the season.

From eurohockey.net

Posted 5/11/2005: Yannick Lehoux (F)
From EHC Basel to Manchester Monarchs (AHL)
Added By: Joeri Loonen, Status: Confirmed

link: http://www.eurohockey.net/transfers/last_24_hours.html

note: the transaction is time sensitive and will not appear on the link in 24-hrs...

Looks as though they signed him and were trying to get him to Manchester. I'll try to get more info out of the Monarchs FO at the Monarchs game tonight...

So, the Kings signed him very recently but kept it very hush hush in hopes that he would pass through waivers on his way to Manchester? They couldn't have actually expected that to work, but they probably didn't have much of an option.

I'm not sure if he had to pass through waivers because he played in Europe after the NHL season started or not. If he didn't, the Kings could have sent him to Manchester on a conditioning assignment without passing him through waivers. Under this scenario, I believe Lehoux would have to be on the Kings 23-man roster and receive his NHL salary and benifits pkg.

Phoenix has claimed him, but I'm not sure if he'll be making their roster. The Kings could possibly re-claim Lehoux if Phoenix tries to send him down, similar to what happened with Kunitz being claimed off waivers by Atlanta, and then the Ducks re-claiming him. It also happened constantly with Wade Brookbank last season going from Vancouver to Ottawa to Nashville back to Vancouver.

Screw him. Let him rot in Phoenix. And first game he plays against us someone like Parros levels him.

realistically, i don't think lehoux would have played more than 5 games under Andy murray. Whether thats good or bad it doesn't really matter now.

i give it a 7/10 in terms of suckininess (losing lehoux).

I THOUGHT SINCE WE HELD HIS RIGHTS BEFORE, WE HAVE THE FIRST CRACK AT HIM AGAIN. Kinda like what happened in Anaheim with Kunitz.
