hey i was just checking... rookie status is under the age of 27 and under 34 games played correct? cause ESPN doesnt have torres listed as the rookie point leader, in fact hes not on there at all.... but this wouldnt be the first time espn screwed up when it comes to hockey, lol
No. He's not a rookie. Last year was his final rookie season. Here's the rule:
"To be eligible for the award, a player cannot have played more than 25 games in any single preceding season nor in six or more games in each of any two preceding seasons in any major professional league. The player must not be older than 26 years before September 15 of the season in which he is eligible."
Torres played in 17 games last year and 14 the year before, so he's no longer a rookie.
