I didn't think Perrot would even be claimed on waivers, but we got a pick for him.

Nathan Perrott traded to Stars

It was for a conditional draft pick

Best thing about this deal is that Wellwood stays with the Leafs .

The fact that it's a conditional pick means it's either good for both teams or entirely irrelevant.

You knew Nates days as a Leaf were numbered when he didn't want anything to do with Gratts or Neil in the last Sens whooping.

It's mostly because Antropov and Czerkawski are returning from injury, and Wellwood will be stayng with the big club.

The trade values of enforcers continues to bamboozle me too. ie. Hordichuk for a 4th, Fedoruk for a 2nd.

Fedoruk for a late, late 2nd isn't nearly as bad as some were making it out to be... he is playing very well for them.

The Maple Leafs will receive a fifth-round selection from Dallas if Perrott plays more than half of the Stars' remaining games. Otherwise, the Leafs will get a sixth-round pick.

That's not true, Perrot could play as a 4th liner. He had speed and skill, a decent energy line guy. Then he's a okay fighter.

Perrott is a definite upgrade over Burnett and is simular to Downey in terms of fighting skills and size. I loved his bout with Peters..

Does this mean Burnett stays in Iowa all season (barring trades or injuries)?

Considering Berg cracked our lineup and has actually played reasonable hockey, and Perrot was incapable of doing both, yes I would assume Berg would fetch more then Perrott.

I'm very happy with Ducks trading the late 2nd for Fedoruk, look at his stats!

TODD FEDORUK L ANA 14 0 7 7 +6

4th best +/- in the team and is currently on pace to quadruple his previous career high points.

I don't know why these kinds of trades surprise so many people.

Enforcers that can play a regular shift have value. They always have. Some people get carried away by saying "So-and-so can only fight. He has no skills blah, blah, blah. He's not worth anything".

But the fact of the matter is that many GMs around the league do value this type of player. So when one comes on the market that's capable of playing in the NHL on a regular basis- yes they do have trade value.

the last played season Perrott did win fastest skater, and hardest shot on the Leafs, not that it means much, since Domi has once also won fastest skater.

I also read he had his eyes 'fixed' for some problem or another last year, so who knows maybe he'll be able to hit the net now and then too.

Polly wants a fight is a decent skater and chipped in some decent goals in the AHL last year.
He got his eyes adjusted last year before the last St John's season and it made a difference.
Apparently though he decided he was a hockey player instead of an enforcer and Tie got demoed by McGratton and it should have been Nathan.

Good Luck Nate - They could use a high energy guy.

This guy is killer strong too - Perrott = brick out house.
