Kings assign Petiot to Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have assigned defenseman Richard Petiot to the Monarchs, Kings President of Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.

Petiot, 23, has not appeared in a regular season game with the Kings this season. The Kings recalled the 6-foot-3, 200-pound native of Daysland, Alberta, on November 1. Selected by the Kings in the fourth-round (116th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Petiot has three assists and eight penalty minutes in six games with the Monarchs this season.

This is GREAT news for the Monarchs. They open a 3-in-3 tonight in Springfield...

I'm glad he gets some playing time, and I wish AM would have gave him a look up here. Dempsey is still bad in my book and I hope Petiot's chances come soon.

Belak and Orr was pretty even until Belak just caught one of those unlucky punches.

Good for Richard too. He needs ice time, not scratch time.
