He's filling in until Kloucek comes back...he was orginally demoted, but kept until the severity of the injury is determined.

he might not necessarily be sent down. i think this gives us the luxury of being able to "comparison" shop between hamhuis and schnabel a bit more. ONE of them will be sent down...it just remains to be seen who.

Well...how'd he look?

From the highlights of the game, I think he looked not half bad...but for those of you that actually went to the game....or saw the game on TV, how'd Hammy look?

I was stoked like hell to see him on the ice in the highlights...he's a great guy...happy for him and his soon to be wife in 8 months or so :p

Also nice to see him get some solid ice time....for a rookie dman to get 18+ minutes is pretty damn good....must've been some PP and maybe a little PK time in there?

He really looked solid. I can think of only a couple times when he got a little sloppy with his passes and made me nervous. But he seemed so poised and was positioned well all night. He made good decisions in carrying the puck to center and I know he had a couple of real nice steals. The whole team seemed real nervous in the first period but settled down and after leaving Vokoun out to dry early did a nice job of tightening up. Hamhuis and York are a nice duo.

Also, I noticed Hamhuis doing a little yapping with Lupul. I like his shot at sticking around even when Kloucek gets back. He did see both PP and PK time.
Rookie Dmen are going to have to get a lot of ice time with this team....
Schnabel 16+min , Zidlicky 19+ min, Hamhuis 18+min...Brookbank spent all night dancing with Burnett....
But already...Hamhuis,Zidlicky,Schnabel>>>>>>>>Houlder ,Hulse,Delmore
....and throw in Kloucek and I think this D is better than last year easily. And will just get better.
Mistakes ...sure...but a lot more speed and the outlet passes are soooooo much better.

I gotta be honest, of all the defenceman, Hamhuis impressed me the least. He looked out of position at times and I spotted a few very fortunate poke checks he made to recover. For his first NHL game, I think he did well, but I have to think a bit more time in Milwalkee would do him good. I'm anxious to see how he does against the Stars... whether those mistakes were first game jitters or not remains to be seen.

I'll agree that Hamhuis Zid and Schabel > Hulse Houlder Delmore though without question.

Nashville fans, Repeat after me:
Hamhuis Zidlicky Schnabel >>> Hulse Houlder Delmore

That should be our mantra for those that don't follow the team. I know it has already been mine lately...

Shaky at times? Who didn't look shaky at times last night. I can't believe how well Danny makes that first pass, looked exceptional on the breakout. He sent Hartnell loose a few times from behind our blueline. I really don't think we have ever had a defencemen make breakout passes like Danny did last night?
Still believe it will take 20 or so games for us to get a feel for this team.
