**OFFICIAL** GDT 11/13 - Kings @ Blue Jackets

Game Time: 2:00 PM PST | 5:00 PM EST
Location: Nationwide Arena | Columbus, OH
TV Broadcast: Fox Sports Net
Radio Broadcast: KSPN AM 710
Online broadcast: Kings Webcast | NHL Radio

  • Mathieu Garon will start in goal for the Kings tonight, coming off a victory on Friday in Chicago in which he saved 32 of 34 shots.
  • Click Here for the radio schedule of the LA Kings.
  • Click Here for the television schedule of the LA Kings.
  • Click Here For the Kings roster.

Quotable:

"He could score 30 or 40 goals. A 20-goal scorer is valuable, but if he wants to be really, really valuable, then he has to shoot the puck more. He knows that." - Andy Murray on Alexander Frolov

"Your best penalty killer is your goaltender. If it wasn't for Garon, we would have been down two or three goals at the start." - Andy Murray

Injury Update:
  • Derek Armstrong, who missed Friday's game against Chicago with a groin injury, did not practice Saturday. Murray says he's "targeting him to play Tuesday [versus Nashville]."
  • Defenseman Mike Weaver, who has a stress fracture in his foot, rejoined the Kings and is expected to be available to play despite the injury.
  • Luc Robitaille, who hasn't played since Oct. 29 because of a broken bone in his leg, skated for half an hour Friday, his first workout since going on injured reserve.

Every team in the Pacific gain a point or 2 on us last night...this is a must win, so I hope we dont go into this game expecting an easy win and get fooled by a speedy Columbus team.

GO KINGS GO

That Tyler Wright hat trick against Jamie Storr at Staples still makes me ill...

These Kings GDT are always the best looking at HFboards.

I'm surprised Murray is going with Garon again -- I'd assumed he was reverting back to a strict rotating goalie system. But, I guess he's going with the hot hand.

I think he wants to keep Garon from getting rusty, and he wants to keep LaBarbera from getting fatigued.

Our first line is making the game look easy. The Blue Jackets are helping us in that cause. Let's see if Frolov can get a hatty. Has he ever had one?

Well it's 3-0 already, Garon looks sharp and Prusek has been yanked, so I'd say you guys are looking alright.

Playing Dempsey sure evens the game out.

All those goals shouldn't have gone in. Never seen Prusek play like this before.

Frolov needs to shoot more!

<Insert obligatory "Corvo is awful" remark here>

Garon looks really sharp. That was big glove save was terrific because the shot was deflected.

Now a hat trick for Frolov!

LaBarbera's not going to be dressing for Nashville's game due to a family matter. Hauser's getting recalled from Manchester to back up Garon.

And what a GOAL by Frolov!!!!

What a goal. If Frolov can play like he does in the 1st period here every night he can be as dangerous as Jagr and Bure were in the late 90's.

5-0. Whew!!! I was really sweating it there for a while when it was 4-0 in the 1st, just like the season opener in Dallas

I feel bad for Columbus. It's gotta be hard when your team is this bad. Maybe they can take solace in the fact that Carolina got shutout 9-0 last night.

Garon has more points in this game than the entire Jacket squad thus far.

Remember when some Kings fans thought they wasted money signing Craig Conroy since he won't be without Jarome Iginla?

The Kings haven't had a line this dominant since the LAPD line.

In defense for the Jackets, our coach ****ing sucks, Rick Nash and Rusty Klesla are both out, and our goalie is a pecie of worthless ****. Prusek is a great goalie, but I think Denis crappiness has rubbed off on him.

I see some big changes in the near future.
