Agree there. Whenever players do the "boo hoo" hands-to-the-face display, I suspect embellishment. Anyone who has a knee hurting puts their hands to their knee, not their face.

I hate when players like Zherdev embelish hits. It should be an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. There is no need to flop around like that and act like you've been shot when you get up and skate to the bench. Jesus is this soccer now?

Imagine if Avery was hit like that and reacted the same way, he'd be called for diving.

Great win for the Kings. Let's hope they do not get too cocky though. It seems that everytime the Kings win in a blowout they suck big time in the next game.

Man what a beat down that was. Our first line created some kind of scoring chance everytime they were on the ice today. Total domination...

Conroy's hatty goal was sweet!

You know Columbus is in a bad way when Jody Shelley plays 10 minutes.

The refs can't be lenient or give the benefit of the doubt on plays like that. Many players have received horrible injuries from leg on leg collisions.
Give me a break!! Star player, future star player, etc. or not, the guy was cutting across the ice, that is a big no-no in hockey. Is Brown supposed to think, "Oh I better not attempt to hit this guy cause well...he's a future star of the game. Here you go Mr. Zherdev, I'll let you have a free pass to the net. Hey, maybe you can score a goal, wouldn't that be swell."
This, 'you can't hit stars or future stars of the game' is bulls**t. Anybody in the NHL can be hit. If Zherdev can't hack it, then don't play in the league.

I wonder if that person on the other Kings board who thought Lehoux could be better than Frolov (after Lehoux's NHL debut) still stands by his ignorant statement.

I have to agree. I know that you were one of the guys to defend Gauthier when he leveled Roenick in the preseason, Osprey, but it's the same thing here. I dont understand how it's kosher to hit Roenick because he has his head down- star player or not, but it's not ok to hit Zherdev because he's a star player even though he was cutting across the ice.

I was also refering to the loss to Calgary after a 7-2 win over Dallas.......come to think about it maybe the Kings just stink it up after they beat Dallas?

That is because Gauthier is not a King. Osprey seems to have a different opinion of a player once he puts on a Kings uniform.

One thing I have to say: I knew I shoulda taken Conroy in my pool!!!!

This game reminded me of when we spanked the Jackets a few years ago and Deader had 4 goals and an assist (if I remember correctly). This is the best we've been since we had Ally, Deader, Ziggy, Schneider, Smoke and Felix. Go Kings!

And just to add another thing about the Brown hit. If Brown would've connected with his shoulder more than his thigh, yes it was thigh on thigh, not knee on knee, THEN Zherdev would be trying to remember what he had for breakfast the morning of this game. In my opinion, Zherdev is actually lucky that Brown didn't connect shoulder on head on that hit.

Did anybody else catch the comment by Bob Miller that this was the first time since 2003 that the Kings have scored 7 goals in a game? I thought they scored 7 in a game against Dallas earlier this season. Unless my memory and all other NHL archives have been corrupted.

I remember that game clearly as it was an away game at Columbus, and the day after that game, the Kings acquired Jason Allison and Mikko Eloranta for Jozef Stumpel and Glen Murray.

I don't think we need to follow up this big win with another trade unless the Kings are planning on adding a top pairing defenseman.

Why a top pairing defenseman? If the Kings could get a good replacement for Corvo I would be excited.

No unfortunately Center Ice on Bell ExpressVu had the Columbus feed. I was kinda shocked though that they had alot of good things to say about Frolov, Conroy, Demitra, and Visnovsky. Seems the Kings are finally getting respect around the league. Well, except for Avery, who really can't seem to please anyone.
