Official GDT: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins @ Hartford Wolfpack ~ 11-13-05

Better late than never.

The game is tied at 4 in the 3rd period. Pack goals are scored by Liffiton, Immonen, Giroux, and Falardeau. Bruckler is in net for the Pack.

The baby Pens scored a SH goal (game winner) with just over 2 1/2 minutes left. Pack lose 5-4.

Grenier is getting alot of fights in now, of the 3 i have seen he has won 2 of them and got edged in the other, he had another 2 yesterday and 2 today. Liffiton is also fighting alot and has for the last 4 games.

The player i am hoping gets a shot soon is Craig weller

in 15 games he has 4 Goals, and 4 Assists and is a +4, and is fighting more which i believe he HAS to do now as as well as produce some. I get a feeling he can give us someone who can stick up for people and not be a dead weight.

I liked Weller too...

but I don't see him having more utility than Ortmeyer or Ward at this point.

I think they need to stop putting in Bruckler, he is just plain horrible 4.10 GAA, .857 Save % after 4 games? He only faced 26 shots today and gave up 5 goals. He played yesterday and stunk up the team and they put him in again today? Holt is much better then this guy.

Maybe they feel they dont wanna expose Holt to this much pressure just yet. It doesn't seem like the Pack have a very tight D as it is (Monty was facing like 50 shots a game). So they may not wanna destroy his confidence if he gets lit up. I dunno, just an idea.

I don't think that's the case, Balej...

There's a logical reason for him not playing, but since he has played in a few games this season, I'd venture to guess they're not afraid to play him.

Falardeau is starting to come around. These big man need time to develop (see Jessiman in Charlotte) Perhaps he could be an NHL player?

Big men do take time, SoS...

but if you're expecting him to be a scorer, he should've been scoring at the NCAA level (i.e., Leclair took time to be a 50 goal scorer, but was a goal scorer with Vermont prior to that). I don't know where Falardeau ends up, and it does seem like he's improving (he did go from the ECHL to the AHL), but I'd be cautious in any predictions (that's not directed at you since you're not predicting anything).

He brings Fighting ability which both do not have, he is a powerful guy who is good round the net and can finish and win battles against the boards.

he is 6'4 222 which is alot more intimdating then Jed at 190... I'm Not knocking these guys i just think Weller brings something to the table that these guys might not. I am also not suggesting he should replace them, but he should get the call is They go down injured or Replace Strudwicks role.

Heres a guy that protects his keeper, gets in peoples faces after the whistle when they nudge a goalie or push another forward down infront of their net. Can throw them Smart.

I know that, Taz...

but for the 3-5 fights he'll get in as an NHLer, is he worth displacing one of two guys who play significant penalty kill minutes and arguably are part of penalty killing units that this season, may be the difference between a winning record and losing record? I don't think a fighter can replace that - all else other than PKing being equal.

Have you seen any of these games, or are you just making assumptions based on stereotypical statistical analysis?

Your right, I guess the defense is to blame. Oh wait Al had the same defense and put up amazing numbers.

I guess Schoeny has a tough choice here...

with Chris Holt, his alternative to Bruckler, at abuot a 4.23 GAA and .883 save percentage. Looks like Schoeny's trying to figure out who can be a starter while Al's hurt and nobody's emerging as the runaway choice, at least on the scoreboard.
