Not to bad for our Preds down there.

also Pekka Rinne in goal....Finley didn't dress as backup....Jason Nordby[?] did.....his Finley hurt, doing some hard time in Rockford, or did we trade him [well, one can hope, can't they]?
To answer my question....Jason Nordby [the backup goalie last night] is the strength and conditioning coach for the Admirals .....apparently Finley took a puck to the knee in morning practice....Michael Robinson is called up from Rockford for tonite's game in Grand Rapids.

Coach Noel was complimentary of Upshall and Nichol's speed and apparently had even more good to say about Nichol in the post game comments that weren't recorded in this article.

Whats up with Shishkanov? Has his opportunity to play on the big stage passed?

Except for the games that I get to. He's always in net when I go to the BC or AllStates Arena. If I went to every Ads game, Finley would be an Iron Man. Thing is, he always plays great when I see him.

That's great for you. Every game (except the one played in Nashville) I've seen him in .... he's lost.

I've been to Milwaukee a couple of times and went to Cincinnati quite a lot during the 2004-2005 season.

I don't think Finley is that good. He's too much of a head case.

I'm not saying he's the netminder that he was drafted to be. I'm not sure he's going to even be a regular NHL backup anymore, his injuries and his deteriorating consistancy & confidence have taken a toll on him which is too bad, cause he has shown that he can be a very good goaltender.

However, I was only responding to the post about him being injured (yet again), because for all of the time he has spent injured this season, I always catch him when he's starting and never get to see Rinne play. Just my bum luck that way, I guess.

Tootoo takes a few licks and does NOT drop the gloves to battle a guy a full head taller. Here is a clip of the full-line brawl that ensued:
Code:
1st V M. Carkner 5.00 Fighting 11:28
1st V M. Carkner 10.00 Game misconduct - Secondary altercation (56(f)) 11:28
1st V T. Conboy 2.00 Roughing 11:28
1st H S. Nichol 10.00 Game misconduct - Third man in (56(d)) 11:28
1st H B. Segal 5.00 Fighting 11:28
1st H B. Segal 10.00 Game misconduct - Secondary altercation (56(f)) 11:28
1st V B. Staubitz 5.00 Fighting 11:28
1st V B. Staubitz 10.00 Game misconduct - Aggressor (56(a)) 11:28
1st H J. Tootoo 2.00 Roughing 11:28
Tootoo takes some punches and Nichols, from a ways away, jumps in in defense of the Preds prospect and both teams giver! Granted, these things happen and probably don't need to in every game, but to see Nichols back up Tootoo, and then have the rest of the on-ice players get behind him was pretty nice. Even Rinne looked as if he was ready to get in there.

EDIT: And of coarse, in a slight twist of the irony, the team fell appart in the 3rd sqandering a two-goal lead, giving Cleveland a point through OT, and prompting Claude Noel to question the player's ability to put the team ahead of their individual success.

so where is the clip?

Anyway I just noticed Stortini is now on the Milwaukee Admirals roster. They have to be the toughest team in the AHL this year. Especially when Weber is on the blue line too.

they have heavyweights in Reynolds and Yablonski, light heavies, Stortini and Brookbank, and good middles with Brown, Weber, and Segal.

What clip? Click on Claude's name, unless they moved it to a subscriber archive already. Otherwise google the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel website and look for Admirals news.

Oooohhhhh. Naw, just a clip of the AHL.com scoresheet. I wish there was a clip of the brawl. I only saw a 10 or 15 second hodgpodge on the news of how it started and some players going to the box as well as the "yard sale" that resulted.

A rare Tuesday morning (11 am start time) in Houston today against the division-leading Aeros. Ads give up two in the opening 4 minutes, but have settled down and are killing off penalties.

The defense has been hanging Finley out.... awww! Houston just took a 3-1 lead as I type this. TJ Reynolds with a pass from behind the net that deflects off an Ads' player's skate an it turns into a 2 on 0 for the Aeros.

EDIT: Upshall is wearing a jaw sheild and has had limited playing time, however, it seems he is out there more in the second period. Gamache-Haydar-Upshall-Klein-Pivko have been on the PP today.

Stortini's name has been mentioned quite a bit so far too.

Wow! Read the following quote from Coach Noel in the Milwaukee newspaper:

Hudler's goal was off Brian Finley, who replaced Rinne, and it was Finley's old nemesis: a rebound.

"He's not going to change; he's a fourth-year pro," said Noel. "You think teams don't know how he plays?"

Another solid performance by Finley, stopping 44 of 46 shots.

From Milwaukee admirals website:
Finley made 44 saves on the night, three shy of his team high for the year, including 20 in the third period and overtime and almost single handedly kept Milwaukee in the game.

Glad to see Rinne is being challenged.
