Fourth point came on Burke's hat-trick snipe off a lateral pass from Wong, with Estephan driving to the net; his secondary there was a touch in the neutral zone IIRC.

Getting pretty excited about this guy. Bumping him up my personal prospect ranking for sure.

Kid reminds me of Marcus Johansson.

I like that each year he has improved. I think he needs to get his footspeed a little better. If he follows Reinhart's plan of getting stronger, it would do wonders for his game.

Yep. It's unfortunate during a breakout season but ultimately shouldn't be a big deal.

Bakes posting 3-6 weeks recovery. Should be back for the playoffs.

Aren't sprains sometimes more troublesome longterm than breaks?

They can be depending on the location and severity. Certain types of sprains tend to have more issues with prolonged discomfort and instability. Sprains involving both sides of the ankle or high ankle sprains usually are more problematic.

Yeah, timeline fits for Estephan to return in time, but any setback/precaution and he would likely miss that final weekend of games and that could possibly turn into the opening playoff games as well .. ideally, he'd get some regular season games in to shake off the rust .. Estephan to miss up to six weeks:
Quote:
The Lethbridge Hurricanes revealed Wednesday that F Giorgio Estephan will be out for up to six weeks with a “lower-body injury.” Estephan, who has 63 points, including 27 goals, in 51 games, was injured during a 2-1 loss to the Rockets in Kelowna on Tuesday night when he slid feet-first into the end boards. He immediately reached for an ankle and was to have had X-rays when the team returned to Lethbridge from a three-game road swing yesterday. . . . The WHL’s regular season concludes on the weekend of March 19, so if Estephan is out six weeks he would be back in time for the playoffs. . . . He was a sixth-round selection by the Buffalo Sabres in the NHL’s 2015 draft so you can bet that they will be involved in any rehab that is needed.

@SabresProspects - Giorgio Estephan (lower) is at least a week away from returning to Lethbridge lineup. The Canes are 4-5-1 without him.

LaxSabre - They are now 4-5-2 without him as they lost 9-8 (SO) to the Regina Pats last night.

@SabresProspects -

Giorgio Estephan back in action for the first time since February 2. And he scores 41 seconds in.

Four minutes later - Estephan adds to his goal with a power play helper.

There should be much debate about whether he'll pan out but there's not much debate that he's a hell of a player in the WHL and the lynchpin of his team.
