Are we talking Mighty Ducks 2? If so, Norway didn't beat Canada, TEAM USA did, however footage of the games was not showen in the movie, just mentioned in a newspaper headline.

lol well to be fair in 1992 it must have been alittle too hard for the producers to actually picture Team USA beating Team Canada at hockey so they just made it up in a news paper clipping

If you meant Slovakia, I never said we were better.

If you meant it any other way, you should explain what you meant.

I think that they used Iceland in place of the USSR or the Russian team.

It just gave me that cold war feel with how the teams felt about each other.

Plus the fact that Iceland produces so much good young hockey superstars.

Their problem is that at the age of 16...they fizzle out.

Yeah, why does iceland have trouble with that though? You would think they would be top notch at hockey. They arent even good at soccer.

Thats because Norway got around 30 icerinks and before this season there had not been built a new one since the olympics in 94. Compare that to sweden who has around 300 icerink and Finland who has about 200 and you get the picture.

The north and south of Norway is completely without icerinks. The west of norway got 3 and there is 2 in the middle of the country (Trondheim). The rest is located in the east. Hockey get no exposure in the media, there its just soccer, soccer, soccer, skiing, skating, skiing, soccer.

Fortunately there is planned to double the number of icerinks in Norway now, the attendance of hockeygames has rised for the last 10 years and hopefully the national TV Channel starts to show some hockey since they got beat for the rights to soccer. So the future looks promising and maybe in 10-20 years Norway can beat Sweden in hockey too, as in just about every other sports.
