In all seriousness -- not from this game. Not enough good, not enough bad. Very vanilla game all around.

He made some big saves early, nothing vanilla about his performance.

I reeeeealllly don't want to get into this, so I'll just say you're right. He was perfectly adequate, and that's all I ask.

I'm liking the 3 game win streak, these have definitely been quality wins... Washington is beating Montreal and New Jersey is giving Ottawa a good run...

Hope they can extend it on Tuesday.

This performance definitely gets Mika half of the home and home next week, IMO.

but you have to admit it was the type of vanilla game that the sabres probably would have lost had it not been for some very big 1st period and a few late 3rd period saves by mika.

I admit nothing.

Wayyyy back in preseason (and earlier), I was totally in Mika's corner. Nowadays I just don't care. I think people are too negative about both Noronen and Biron. Personally, I think they're equally likely to blow key saves, and they're equally likely to make key saves. Meh.

What home and home are you referring to? We have back-back with Rags/@Isles...I'm guessing that's what you're referring to.

with millers injury i am the same way. i just dont care who it is. but 2 weeks of biron was enough. you cant argue that Noronen didnt make the key saves that helped win this game. i dont know if Biron made any key saves to help the sabres win any game over the last few weeks.

I think we'd have lost 4-3 if Biron was in net.

Mika was solid, I think he did enough to earn a start, perhaps even the next start. He had some rust, no doubt, but if he can get a couple wins under his belt, it may be the shot he needs.

I was a little surprised that the moustaches didn't do it for you guys. You might have to add porkchops and soul patches to really get it done. If the Broons could give half the effort that their fans seem to give, they'd be so much better off.

In any case, regardless of who lost last night, the losers fans would have had plenty to complain about in this snoozer. Hands-down, this was the dullest game of the season.

^^^ I think the Washington game in Rochester was a bit duller, but they're pretty close.

I didn't get any sense of dullness whatsoever. It's the sort of road game we should appreciate.
