How's he doing? When are the Yotes supposed to call him up?

LoL.......I know! What I want to know is WHICH minor league team he has his conditioning assignment with and how well he's accepted that assignment. I can't find any stats for the Yotes farm club. Thanks!

Also, the Yotes are supposed to recall him when the conditioning assignment is over....was that after ten GAMES or ten DAYS??? Thanks again!

Lehoux has appeared in 3 games for SA so far. He has a goal and is a -2. I'm not sure if there is any room for him on Phoenix after the acquisition of Dave Scatchard. Just too many centers in Phoenix, and I'm not sure he will get that last forward position on the team.

Under the old CBA, conditioning assignments were typically not longer than 14-days unless mutually agreed upon by the player and the club.

I think things are going to get interesting for Phoenix in the next little bit. It appears with the departure of Tanabe, the Yotes are currently carrying 6 d-men on their 23-man roster. They may want to use a roster spot for a 7th d-man in the near future?

So, the cost of getting Lehoux back in the Kings organization could be as high as say... Dempsey?

I wasn't really suggesting a trade. Rather that IF the Yotes want to add a 7th dman to their 23-man, they'll need to open up a roster spot...

edit: This appeared in the News section on the NHL.com

Hockey transactions

PHOENIX COYOTES-Claimed C Yanick Lehoux off waivers from Los Angeles.

Seems a bit odd that it's listed there today???

I'm more impressed that after about 4 years, hockeydb removed one of the "N"s from "YanNick"... it is now officially Yanick...

would it even cost the Kings THAT much? i mean, if he was unable to stick with the big club, don't the Coyotes have to waive him?

it wouldn't cost anything for the kings.. after his conditioning assignment.. if he's sent down (assuming he hasn't played 30 days in the NHL), he'll have to clear waivers and Kings get first shot. So basically the Yotes will have to find room to be able to keep him on the roster for 30 days once his conditioning stint is over. If not and they try and send him down, Kings can grab him if they want.
