its very sad that they can only get a couple of thousand people to the marlies games, but a cfl game is no excuse.

the ahl isn't about to plan its schedule around the cfl.

poor marlies players. it must be a terrible feeling to play under such conditions.

You seem to having quite an Internal struggle and debate going with yourself there ..

Your first point is poor Marlies players ..No body cares and your evidence is attendance figures.

Second point a virtual complete contradiction is that the pressure of playing in the GTA will not be good for young players to handle so its a bad move ..

Can't wait to see how it turns out for you ..

sort of like, "the marlies record doesn't matter, but we have to find a way to make marty sagat look good, so in his case, wins matter." ??????

there's no pressure on the marlies. no pressure from fans, no pressure from media, no pressure from management (btw, is jfj going to a lot more ahl games these days? if so, is it helping anyone?). what a wonderful training ground to become future toronto maple leafs.

4100 yesterday. and you can probably cut that in half to get the real number of bums in the seats.

actually there is a small story in the star today from ken campbell. i guess he finally found ricoh. maurice is blaming the loss squarely on the horrific schedule the team has to endure now that they are in toronto. 3 games in 3 nights is a killer. they have to do it 10 more times.

Star and Sun both have articles AGAIN. Now the circulation might not rivals some papers but ...

So you being a so called self proclaimed AHL expert ..

You tell me how much any NHL franchise has in the form of control, influence or opinion on the people that make the AHL schedule ??

Then tell me why Grand Rapids or Rochester or any other team that does not have its team in its home city also play that same type of schedule.

Take Rochester games for Nov, they have 3 games in 3 nights and it happens 4 times this month alone.. Games (Nov 4th, 5th, 6th) .. (Nov 11th, 12th, 13th) .. (Nov 18th, 19th, 20th) .. (Nov 25th, 26th, 27th).

So why do you make this a Marlies thing only?

.

geez, i know you're new to the ahl, but i figured you'd know this.

its not about being in the same city as the parent team, its all about seniority in the ahl. when they moved the team, the new marlies lost all seniority. therefore they are at the bottom when it comes to schedule making.

last year st.john's played 3 in 3 only twice. this year the marlies are faced with it 12 times. that's a direct negative effect of the move.

why do i only talk about the marlies? because the leafs are my favorite team and they're the farm team.

why do you only make gameday threads for marlies games? why not all ahl games?
