This article seems to indicate Thelen is playing well despite the team not being very good. Is that accurate?

I've seen him play once this season, when they were in town against Calgary. From what I saw, he played steady and consistent, but didn't wow me with offensive prowess.

He's putting up good points and is happy with his performance thus far, so combining those two, plus seeing him, I'd say he's playing fairly well.

Seems he's playing well so far. I like this kid as I do all the other Wild prospects. I'll be up in PA in Feburary most likely, I'm hoping to check a few games out and give you guys a little more analysis on him.

I watched him play at Michigan State... he's got some bad habits he needs to break out of before he develops into a threat, most of which were instilled by our wretched coaching staff (the reason I refuse to buy season tickets again.) He's been taught to defend his blue line first, pinch the offensive zone second. MSU gives up so many odd rushes when D-men second guess themselves trying to hold the zone and get caught in between pinching and backpedaling. That's not his style, and once he breaks out of it he's going to be a serious threat. Pair him with a stay-at-home guy that can cover for AJ's aggressiveness and you'll love him.

I am a raider season ticket holder and was very excited to hear of thelen coming to town, he has done well as a quarterback on the pp and moves the puck well and seems very patient with it. at the beginning of the year i thought he seemed a little like a bit of a defensive liability but a few games down the road he has become really solid in his own zone and picks very well when to jump into the play, he seems to play more and more physical each game and less like a individual and more like a team player. still dont know if he was the right choice with the 12th overall pick but... hindsights 20/20 hopefully he keeps it up

Cheap plug to keep this alive.

There's another article out that discusses Thelen and the WJC's.

You can check it out here:

If that doesn't work, you can just check out www.bchockey.com and it'll give you a link there.
