Ian Laperierre

Man, this is one of my favourite players of his type. Did another number on my Canucks the other day. I hoped we'd get him as a UFA but he was wisely scooped up by the Avs. This is an old-time hockey player.

Is he remembered/appreciated by LA fans?

They did a video montage on his at the game on Sat. night.

Decent applause, but not really the standing ovation I expected.

At least we don't treat him like we do Rob Blake.

Lappy is loved by all of us in King land. He's a class act.

I used to like Lappy a lot, but I wasn't impressed by his over the top celebrating when he potted two against us earlier in the year. My opinion of him dropped after that, much like his level of play dropped in his final 3 seasons here.

Maybe, but his enthusiasm was what so many of us loved about him.

If you could put Lappy's heart in Fedorov's body, you'd probably have the best player ever to play the game.

Oh, and I still love him(if that's not obvious). Great guy on and off the ice.

I think you can put the lack of fan reaction on the timing of the video. If Lapperriere wasn't on the ice at the time to kill a penalty, I'm sure he would have acknowledged the crowd and the crowd would have gotten up... The Video was so long that it almost spilled into the dropping of the puck... no one had time to do anything, and Lappy had to focus on the faceoff.

It would have been better to do it before the game started. I think you would have seen a greater fan reaction. If for no other reason but to show up Blake.. (just kidding, I nothing but respect for Blake personally)

Kings should have shown the video earlier or started it at the beginning of a tv timeout. Lappy wasn't able to acknowledge the video because he was on the ice a few times. There's a post game interview with him on lakings.com. Great guy, no one has a bigger heart.

yeah, did you notice, all he did was tap his stick on the ice a couple times just before he took the face-off?

Probably NOT. But the sentiment is appreciated.
