Fukufuji to get his shot.

Goaltender Yutaka Fukufuji will finally be getting his chance to start a game in the AHL soon. Fuji backed up Adam Hauser in Lowell today and Barry Brust is returning to Reading. The Monarchs will be playing 5 games in 7 days starting Wednesday so Fukufuji should see a game or two in that stretch.

well, that answers my question --- after I saw that he had backed up Hauser today.

Clearly the #2 behind veteran Cody Rudkowsky, whose ECHL numbers have been considerably stronger than Fukufuji's over the past season plus.

I'm skeptical about this guy being anything but a minor league goaltender with an unusual (for hockey) lineage.

His 27 wins last year sure were considerably weaker than Cody's 8

Thats because Brust earned the starting role for Cody, who became to many one of the top if not the top tenders in the E. I have a feeling Fuk is a goalie who needs to start and struggles in the backup role being its something i doubt hes really used to.
