What are some of Detroit's Players worth?

What would your team give up in a trade to get one or a package of the below Detroit vets if Detroit was looking to rebuild. Only picks/prospects/young NHLers in return.

Below Stats are: Games Played, Goals, Assists, Points, Plus Minus, Penalty Minutes, Time On Ice, cap hit $ value/years remaining.

C Pavel Datsyuk - 22 9 14 23 +10 2 16:51 $3,900,000 per for 2 years (UFA).

C Kris Draper - 21 1 3 4 -3 14 16:35 $2,128,000 per for 3 years (UFA).

LW Kirk Maltby - 22 3 2 5 EVEN 16 14:55 $1,444,000 per for 2 years (UFA).

RW Brendan Shanahan - 22 12 8 20 +2 31 16:07 $2,280,000 per for 1 year (UFA).

LW/C Jason Williams - 22 6 15 21 +1 10 14:53 $450,000 per for 1 year (RFA).

RW Tomas Holmstrom - 22 8 9 17 +9 28 14:55 $1,368.000 per for 2 years (UFA).

C Robert Lang - 22 7 10 17 +5 14 16:20 $3,800,000 per for 2 years (UFA).

D Nicklas Lidstrom - 22 1 13 14 +3 8 27:54 $7,600,000 per for 1 year (UFA).

D Mathieu Schneider - 21 4 13 17 +4 24 24:18 $3,300,000 per for 2 years (UFA).

D Andreas Liljia - 22 0 3 3 +10 30 17:21 $650,000 per for 1 year (UFA).

D Chris Chelios - 22 0 2 2 +3 56 15:13 $850,000 per for 1 year (UFA).

Below stats are: game played, wins, losses, overtime losses, goals agains average, save percentage, cap hit $ value/years remaining.

G Chris Osgood - 6 3 1 2 2.97 .892 $900,000 per for 1 year (UFA).

Make sure that your proposal would fit under your teams cap.

If Chelios has a bonus clause in his contract (THN listed him at $1.1 million), then it's included in his cap figure. I honestly don't know if he does or not, I'm hoping one of the Red Wings fans will have info on this.

You are absolutely correct.

Both Yzerman and Chelios have preformance bonuses tied to their contracts.

THN estimated the max cap allocation (look at Ovechkin's rookie salary in THN)when they did their calculations however and I don't think Chelios will make his bonuses.

Two Second round picks for Shanahan at the deadline, same for Chelios.

Bondra likely won't make his bonus either ($505K base, $2.9M in bonuses mostly tied to the Thrashers winning the Cup) - but the NHL doesn't consider that when calculating each player's potential cap hit. (Yeah, it doesn't make sense but that's the agreement both sides signed off on.)

Then I assume Chelios is really at $1.1M and Yzerman is at $2 million?

This is exactly what type of deals I am looking for.

Which NHL team though?

Not saying they would rebuild but if they are going too cut salary and give some kids a chance next year they might try the trade route and get somthing for their vets.

Maybe for Lidstrom but Phoenix would need to include Ballard as well as the two picks.

two second round picks for Chelios? Wow. I like Chelly and all, but I have a hard time seeing his value that high. He's a third pairing/pk specialist. While his cap hit would be really low, I just don't see his value being high enough to pull two second rounders from someone.

If there looking to dump salary/rebuild, Anton Babchuk and a third round pick for Shanny.

If Detroit was rebuilding and looking to trade vets then why would they trade Datsyuk?

Draper and Maltby probably stay because rebuilding teams usually still need a couple of vets and these two are worth keeping at those prices.

Shanahan: 2nd rounder.

Jason Williams is still young and makes nothing. Why get rid of him?

Holmstrom is a keeper for what he does and makes.

Lang: 3rd or 4th rounder.

Lidstrom: 1st rounder plus a decent prospect.

Schneider: A decent prospect.

Liljia: Nothing. Ok not nothing but a pick from the last round (9th?).

Chelios: 5th rounder.

Osgood: NOTHING! Just wait till he goes on waivers and then still pass on him!

For Chelios to L.A. maybe a 5th and a prospect like Hogeboom.

C Pavel Datsyuk $3,900,000 per for 2 years (UFA).
He's 27 and will be the number one center Detroit wouldn't let him go. Worth a 1st straight up if a team needs a center really bad or player + 2nd.
LW/C Jason Williams $450,000 per for 1 year (RFA).
Still young and can improve but is worth a 3rd maybe 2nd at this point if he continues to put up points.
Gladly take them both.

1. Someone mentioned Lang being worth a 3rd or 4th rounder... is he THAT bad?

2. Why would you trade Datsyuk, who is fairly young himself, for 1st rounder who might not pan out. The only thing I see the league's arguably most skilled player (Kovalev will prolly kick my *** for his) traded for is a rookie/2nd year guy who showed he can succeed at the NHL level and shows signs of more potential.

Ie: Zherdev for Columbus or Tyutin for NYR.

I love the way you think Reap! Chelios was the first guy I thought we could reasonbly get that would help our team off the Wings roster.
