Flames win home opener

Flames get the win in their home opener v San Jose 3-2.

Goals by Kobasew (PP), Yelle, and Donovan (PP).

Turek out with a concussion caused by collision on Sharks second goal. Will be evaluated at hospital after the game. Noodles came in and held the fort, not giving up a goal to get the win. May have saved his NHL career.

Kid line of Saprykin - Lombardi - Kobasew played great, got some PP time which Kobasew capitalised on, scoring the first goal of the game.

Great. He was everywhere, with Kobasew and Lombardi. The Kid Line was very good tonight, shootin', passin' like there's no tomorrow!

I think the offense is warming up, for all I can tell the MCI line isn't playing terribly they just haven't capatilized yet, but that is only a matter of time. This injury to Turek changes things however, anyone have a update on his condition?

From what I gather he recovered fairly well. Sutter kept him out as a cautionary move. He shouldn't miss any time.

A good win. I will admit I was a little worrited when McLennan came in, but he made the saves that he needed to. The Donovan-Yelle-Gelinas line was great tonight as was the KID line. Nice to see us get a win without the MCI line being a factor. Hopefully they can get it going.

It was nice to see the boys pull one of with out the MCI line playing to the best of their abilities. It was enjoyable to watch the kid line of Lombardi w/Sparykin and Kobasew. They were flying all night long.
