I don't get one thing - last year Tkachev signed with Edmonton - but the contract was not allowed (?) And this year no-one is interested?

He didn't sign, he was just in a camp as naturally you can't sign undrafted 18 year-olds. And yes, apparently nobody cared enough to draft him which frankly makes quite a lot of sense.

IMO a low class move by Edmonton. How do you try to sign a guy, a year later you completely ignore him, don't even invite him to rookie camp. Its not uncommon for young guys to have 1 or 2 down years, doesn't mean you disband the guy. Its a fact that last year Tkachev was not only one of the most impressive guys in camp but he was one of the top scorers in NHL preseason. He gets injured, traded in the same year, still had a good showing at the mem cup and yet teams avoided him like the plague, I dont understand. In the end, it will take a few seasons for him to emerge as a top KHLer and then some NHL teams will want him again. Glad to see him in the K, hoping he gets a good opportunity, IMO he is ready for the level of play.

The most likely reason is that it is a completely different management group in Edmonton.

I would like to see him develop in the KHL for a couple years and then come to the NHL.

Well lets not get ahead of ourselves, thus far, he's neither in the KHL nor his rights are with a team where he would get a chance. If he actually signs with SKA we can forget about him playing in the KHL.

I'm not that certain about him not being in the KHL. Probably SKA will promise him some minutes to entice him to come back.

Well they can promise him 4th line spot some other young SKA F is getting at the moment (Dergachyov usually) but that's 6 minutes per game. That's not exactly playing, if you ask me. Not very enticing either.

Cervenka signed with Chomutov Pirates. This summer is crazy. Maybe that's just a short stint for a month or two though.

Tlusty, turned down several PTOs from NHL teams saying if he isn't signed by camp he will go to the KHL.

He just signed a one year contract with the Devils.

Other KHL activities:

Kevin Lalande is getting a try-out with the Minnesota Wild.

Sheldon Brookbank and Vitali Vishnevski are getting try-outs with the Ducks.

Michel Miklik has been released by Amur.

Ilya Shinkevich (Belarusian) has been released by Vityaz, he is now rumoured to Minsk.

Adam Almqvist has signed with HV71.

So, with Voynov choosing voluntary deportation, will Traktor finally break their losing streak?

Would be a huge addition, but with the assault, would Traktor welcome him back?

Because of his crime. I've heard both that he's welcome back and that the club doesn't want him there because of the assault charge..

Ilya Nikulin returns home, he has signed a 1-year cotract with Dynamo Moscow.

Martin Erat has signed a 1-year contract with Avangard Omsk

and Slava Voynov is rumored to Cska and Ska but Traktor owns him.

will never happen. Vova's opinion on himself is far from the reality. Great hands, very small, stupid as hell. If he doesn't get his head straight nothing will come out of his development. He is now paying the price fro being arrogant to Avangard. My projection is an average player in the KHL at best.

What crime? Being with a stupid? That's dumb, not criminal. The whole assault thing is hot air and internal american politics.

Sure he is, sure. Same as beating your wife is just American politics. Same as Neftekhimik doing well is all Krikunov (whom Neftekhimik fired what, 3 times already?), not because they have a decent roster for a change. Legit Atas opinions, as always.

I guess I am supposed to be flattered by your kind attention to my posts

If only you would pay attention to what you read in my posts...

"Beating your wife"? Oh, really? You were there too? Why haven't they called you up as a witness? I mean they were taking the guy's who heard something about a guy who saw something dog as a witness. That's not how it works in a normal legal system. I also know why it works that way in the US. It's not about law and what's right, it's about internal judicial politics. If there is a hint ot a hint of domestic violence, then you are guilty as charged 3 times over before you put your suit on to go to court. I don't care which kind of a society it will create in the end. Not my country. It only concerns me as far as my countryman has become a victim of that system.

Your prejudice towards Krikunov is noted. I still think Pavel Datsyuk is a better expert on hockey than you. Neftekhimik would perform far better if they wouldn't fire Krikunov in the first place. What decent roster? Are you even serious? They've had far better rosters on paper.
