Avery Bashing

Man is he getting a new one tore into him over on the NHL talk board. It seems like most everyone absolutely *hates* him. I wonder how many would still feel that way if he were on their team? Not used to having a guy so hated on my team, guess it's something I'll have to get used to.

It means he's doing his job. If he's effective with it, I couldn't care less how he's perceived elsewhere. To be honest, I don't really like his mouth either, but as long as he does his job (and draws those sweet 5 minute PP), I want him on this team. If he gets the crap beat out of him every night for it, I won't shed a tear because that's his job.

It makes you wonder how much the players hate him.

Everyone is hating on him because of his mouth. I don't blame people for it, its what Sean Avery is. At some point though enough has to be enough.

I think Kings fans should stop posting in Avery threads. It'll be like an all-NHL rant thread about Avery.

Avery.

I will defend this guy till the very end. IMO, he is the Dennis Rodman of hockey without the makeover. I don't consider that a bad thing as long as he is on our side.

im in with everyone else here ill defned till he does something undefendable. I think whats most funny about this last incident is preds fans going on and on about avery running their small/star players without realizing that both incidents occrued with players bigger than him.

completely agree. except he's my favorite. i cant help but think that the only things that most NHL fans know about aves is the stuff they read in the paper. so bashing him as a player is ridiculous because he has been arguably one of our best this season.

Avery represents a style of hockey that I don't like - winning by gimmick and not by skill or ability.

However, as long as he is effective in helping the Kings win, I will live with it. But if the Kings could win just as much without him as with him, I would get rid of him. Which is a shame because what gets lost in all this is that when he is not clowning it up, he's a damn good hockey player.

Im not going to say unfairly has he deserves his rep. Avery can play a decent game of hockey. Hes just puts himself into situations too often to get any notice for it. Just my $.02

Thread change...

"Could some mod please merge this thread with his "Avery" thread and rename it "I'm Kingz4life and I like beating dead horses"? Much appreciated!"

Good one buddy but it wasn't just about our fans defendning Avery. It was about our fans going head to head with a couple of trolls. Some were trolls...some were not. I like seeing fans step up for their players and team against anyone. I just thought they deserved credit for their effort that night.

Who cares ?

Those guys in the NHL Talk Board know very little about the sport anyways.

Avery is great asset to our team, thats all that matters.

The thing about Avery is that he plays with intense emotion. So much so that he often goes overboard. But if I had to choose between a player who has too much emotion or none at all I would take a guy like Avery everyday of the week. Keep it up Sean. Do not let "THE MAN" tell you what to think or say.

I can't wait to see the Kings at Ottawa and then in Montréal.. going to both games

Wonder if the French-speaking crowd will remember Avery's comments..

should make for a fantastic week-end!

I have no need to post my thoughts because David just did it for me, word for word.

Over the past 10 game Avery has been back to his idiotic ways. He has been a cheap shot artist and has taken rediculous penalties that have hurt the Kings more times than not.

I have been a big supporter of his but I have grown tired of his act.

It Must Be A Slow News Day

If the Raleigh NC newspaper has an article (of course negative) on Avery. I say this because I've spent a LOT of time there, and most people have no clue who Avery is....
