Another "visor" comment. Wonder if Fedoruk will get fined... not.

Fedoruk's a punk. Plain & simple. Granted, he can score, but....

Because he takes cheap shots. I could care less who he plays for. Cheap shots are cheap shots.

Fedoruk didn't have to destroy Nedved. Nedved always gets the shaft when goons are looking to retaliate. I remember last year he got blasted by Doull. Fedoruk could've gone after a tougher guy like O'Donnell or even Gauthier.

playing devil's advocate here but Goat took out Lupul, one of the best players on the Ducks... why take out a scrub on the Yotes when you can make it hurt?

not playing devil's advocate anymore... it's good to see someone stick up for their teammates. did he have to throw bows? nah, but i'm used to watching the wings get abused because they have no enforcer threat, so it's refreshing to see a guy put his neck on the line for his teams' safety. this wasn't just a message to Goat, it's a message to the league that you've got to deal w/ Feds if you're gonna pick a fight.

No, I know, I was just saying.

Fedoruk's a tough cookie no doubt, but I feel sorry for Nedved.

All things aside, I hope Gauthier mans up and takes his helmet off against someone his own size for a change.

Knowing that thong wearin, Girls Gone Wild, crow eating, panty muncher, i doubt he even goes near Fridge the next time these two teams meet.

Avery SPEAKS the truth....WWAD forever

If the refs aren't going to call it, then it falls on the players to take it on.
Good for him. He absolutely has to send a message when the other team runs their best player. Now get rid of the instigator rule so they can fight it out instead of injuring someone.

its tricky....without the instigator rule, fighting does seem pretty meaningless

Interesting that he used the same type of "running around with a visor on" comments as Avery did. Of course, he stopped short of calling out French born players like Sean did, which is why I don't think his comments will get much press.

Here is a vide of the hit

http://www.hockeyfights.com/cf1013/0...k_odonnell.wmv

Without a doubt charging, Fedoruk went right for the head. Easily 5 games.

Myabe it's me, but I didn't think Gauthier's hit was dirty. He had his elbows down and it looked as if Lupul was bending over slightly and Gauthier caught him with a shoulder to the chin. In regards to Fedoruk's hit, I think its all a matter of opinion as to whether or not he did the 'right' thing.

Personally, if the Kings were in a similar situation I would want the same response. The 'eye for an eye' mentally sends the stronger message. It may or may not be correct, but each person has their own opinion and that's mine. 'You kill my brother, I kill your mother' cliche.

well if your going to suspend Fedoruk you have to spend Gauthier IMO. both were high hits. granted Fedoruk did leave his feet, but if Fedoruk felt his teammates were being run than he did what he had to do. I feel bad for Nedved, but unfortunatly someone was going to pay for Lupul being run by Gauthier. Did anyone actually expect Fedoruk to go after a 4th liner?
But i do agree with you, it may not be the most popular decision but Fedoruk laying a hit like that after he felt his temmmates were being run sends a message.

.

Hard to say if Gauthier should be suspended. Fedoruk's hit was clearly premeditated and had malicious intent; and he certainly doesn't deny that by his comments to the press. On the other hand, Gauthier's hit(s) were not in retaliation and did not have the intent to injure (im speculating). 'High' hits occur more often than not during any given game; I know Avery's got a couple this season, but the intent to seriously injure was not apparent as it was with Fedoruk.

Exactly, Fedoruk did what he had to do, they were hitting the Ducks skilled players, so he has to counter.

This is something the Kings weren't doing for the past few years, now that AM has finally woken up and put guys like Cowan and Parros and even Flinn and Belanger in occasionally, the Kings have the guys out there to counter if something happens.
