Kapanen to Return on Friday against Boston
Flyers forward Sami Kapanen will play in his first regular season game on Friday against the Boston Bruins. He has been recovering from shoulder surgery performed on September 20.

Retirement isn't an option for Primeau
Keith Primeau has heard the whispers. There isn't a hockey player who has suffered a series of concussions that hasn't.

Esche gets an earful from Hitchcock
Robert Esche sent a message to his Flyers teammates after a loss to Tampa Tuesday that he was fed up with their substandard play. A day later, Esche had a message sent back to him, only instead of his teammates, it came from his coach and came through loud and clear: Stop worrying about everyone else and concentrate on yourself.

Hitchcock wants Esche to cool it on and off the ice
"Right now there are so many issues in the locker room, issues outside the locker room," Esche began. "It's a new NHL, new people on the team, we're trying to get everyone on the same page.

One in, one still out
Mike Richards' right hand is still sore and swollen and he did not make the trip to Boston for today's noon game. The rookie center said he wanted to play but coach Ken Hitchcock said he was doubtful and would probably keep Richards in Voorhees so he could continue to get treatment and possibly play tomorrow at home against the Islanders.
Missing Richards is a problem for the Flyers, but Sami Kapanen will make his return to the lineup. Kapanen has been out since before training camp recovering from shoulder surgery. He was cleared to play earlier this week but held out until today because of swelling in his surgically repaired knee.

Wow, Esche isn't worried about losing his spot it seems...

And I have a feeling well see Kapanen on the 1st line...

Lets win this one!

After Saturday's game, Niitty might be the new no.1 of this team. He first need a good game against Boston, which might not be easy considering they crunched the Leafs two days ago... and then hope that Esche will continue to play the way he did recently against NYI on Saturday. I then hope Niity will get the back-to-back games at the end of November against NYI and NJD, but it might again be a 1-1 situation.

These teams play tight games against each other. I wouldn't be surprised if we see another OT affair.

it is very good to have him back but he hasn't played in a long time so I am not expecting much though he should help the pk big time. Hope they put him Carter and Umberger. Knowing Hitch he will end up with Brashear and Kavanagh

Since Niitymaki is in goal and Kapenen is back in im going to say that the flyers take this one:

Flyers 5 (Forsberg, Gagne, Kapenen, Desjardin, Carter)
Boston 2 (Thorton.)
