Edmonton @ Calgary--October 14th

I'll take another shot at making a game thread...maybe im good luck
Edmonton will have to rebound after a dismal 3-0 loss at the hands of the canucks. Turek may not start for the flames because of some kind of head problem. I think the oilers will come out on top, just not sure by how much...GO OILERS!!

This is going to be an awesome game. I am so happy I have center ice!! I wager 5-2 for the Oilers, 5th being an empty net. They will play confident and capitalize on the fact the Flames have a really tough time scoring.

I'll be at the game.. I'm certainly hoping the Oilers come out with a fire lit under them after their lacklustre display last game. Something tells me MacT has had a lot of skating drills in the last couple practices.. Any update on the Turek and Moreau injuries?

Woohoo! I just came back from Vegas, and I'd like to thank the Oilers for their offensive explosion in the third to cover the over/under and helping me win a few bucks! (I'd never bet against my own team )

Anyways, the Oilers were horrible against the Nucks and I hope they bounce back against the Flames. Anyone know why Semenov hasn't been playing? Brewer has been horrible and Cross belongs in the press box. yikes.

3-1 Calgary

They had trouble with Calgary last year, I think the Oil will have a bad start.

If Mactavish is even a half decent coach, he'll have is players ready to play.

Bad start, Bad middle, & Bad end. The Oilers look both on the ice, and on paper, like an AHL team just a step ahead of Pittsburgh. Calgary wins 4-1.

ON the bright side, they may just be able to grab Ovechkin......and then trade him 3 years later

"We still seem to have trouble combining physical play and discipline,'' said MacTavish, adding Saturday's result should help them figure it out."It comes with learning from mistakes. Last game was a good example.''

He certainly has a flair for stating the obvious.

"We're not going to over-read into what happened. The areas we broke down are largely correctable areas. And we're going to have to continue to work on our power play - practise it and practise it - because we didn't do a good job on that. We expect to bounce back and address the shortcomings. It's something we're all very motivated to correct. Nothing's changed. We still like our team and our ability to compete in the conference.''

and practise it, with a dash more flair.

krazycanuck19 I don't appreciate you bringing your trolling bullcrap here. Piss off, seriously. Comparing the Oilers to an AHL team? God, you are not only dumb, but retarded as well.

I expect MacT to give the boys a heavy workout, they really need to wake up after the last game. The kind of effort they put into the last game is unacceptable. I expect them to come out in full force and as a dangerous team.

I'm hoping the lines for the games are
Isbister-Smyth-Hemsky

Chimera-York-Dvorak

Semenov coming in for Fergason

hopefully we can ignight Isbister's offence that line played great in preseason and the second line is all about speed

Didn't that 2nd line stink it up in the pre-season?

I would like to add that trollnuckfan19 does not speak for the rest of the Canucks fans, and especially not me.

What an idiotic comarison. The Oilers have a legitimit shot at the playoffs in a very tough Western Confrence, but they are a level above the Pens... Ok that is really taking the troll level a little far.

I think the Flames line-up will be much like last game against the sharks with Turek being the only question mark....He was kneed in the head in SJ but was re-evaluated and it sounds like he'll be able to go again tomorrow (www.calgaryflames.com)
The Line-up for Calgary should be.....

McAmmond - Conroy - Iginla
Saprykin - Lombardi - Kobasew
Gelinas - Yelle - Donovan
Lowry - Betts - Clark
Scratch: Oliwa (may draw in if Sutter thinks it'll be a rough one, it is the Battle of Alberta after all, look for Lowry to sit if he does IMO)
Injured: Reinprecht (Shoulder)

Regehr - Leopold
Lydman - Ference
Warrener - Gauthier
Scratches: Montador, Commodore (I think they'll stay in the PB for a bit longer)

Turek*
McLennan
*McLennan would start for Turek and Krahn is still being kept up with the Flames incase Turek can't go and then Krahn would back up McLennan.
