GDT LA Kings @ Nashville [Game 20/21] 7PM CST

OK...since everybody else is shirking responsiblity...I'll start it.

The Kings are 2-8-1 on Thanksgiving. ... Los Angeles is 7-2-1 in its last 10 games. ... The Kings are 6-3-1 on the road. ... Los Angeles' penalty killers rank fifth (85.4 percent). Los Angeles' top line of Craig Conroy, Pavol Demitra and Alexander Frolov has combined for 77 points (30 goals, 47 assists). Each forward has a hat trick during the past 10 days.

The Predators are 9-1 at GEC, one of the best home records in the NHL. ... Nashville is 6-1-2 against the Pacific Division.

Both teams have won 5 of their last 6 games.

Kings injuries: RW George Parros (ankle) and RW Valeri Bure (back) are out.

PP% Nash 12th @ 19%......LAK 18th @ 17.6%
PK% Nash 3rd @ 85.7%....LAK 5th @ 85.4%
Goals per Game LAK 4th @ 3.82....Nash 20th @ 2.90

Last night, only 1500 tickets remain...hopefully nearly a sellout and the GEC should be rocking.

We have to have an answer to the Avery/Belanger/Cowan line who ate our lunch last time out. Last game Vokoun stood on his head and we didn't have Sully.

I would love to see Hordichuk pound Avery, but I predict Avery will continue to run like a little girl....

The game is not on FSN....so get your little butts down to the GEC tonight....

Hockey and Thanksgiving.....has a nice ring to it.....

great job trick....forgot to get one going..

i'm with you, somehow we have play their top line as well as we did last time out and on top of that find a way to keep belanger's line from killing us this time.. hopefully sullivan being back gives them problems they haven't seen from us yet.. we have to remember that we're 1-0-1 against this bunch and in neither game did sullivan play.. so here's to hoping he changes the game they're expecting

speaking of sullivan...last night the guy was simply phenominal.. to have missed that time with the groin, and still be noticably slower than usual because of it.. and still come out and work his stickhandling, quickness magic against the jackets last night was huge..4 frigging times he swam thru them like they weren't there and the only way he was stopped each of the 4 times was by them having to take a penalty.. every time you see this guy, it makes you realize with this new open game just how valuable he is to this team

it's no accident we're 1-2-1 in the 4 games he's missed.. and 12-1-2 in the 15 he's dressed

It is amazing the way the guy knows just when to zig and zag to avoid getting into the d-mans body and still keep the puck. Two years ago all they had to do was reach out and grab him with the stick the way they have been but then it wasn't a penalty. And because it wasn't a penalty you were better off not even trying stunts like that, just to lose the puck.

I'm told that they announced on the radio that "less than 1000 tickets remain" for tonight's game. Not bad, for Thanksgiving.

Also, according to the Tennessean:

"Statistic of note: Nashville's home attendance is up 15.7 percent, according to USA Today. That's the seventh-highest increase in the NHL. Pittsburgh, sparked by rookie sensation Sidney Crosby, is enjoying the biggest increase at 37.1 percent. St. Louis is suffering the biggest decrease, down 22.8 percent. NHL attendance is up 4 percent from 2003-04."

If Johnson is out again...and I'd like to see Sullivan as the substitute Captain. I also think that whenever Johnson moves on....Sully is the guy to take his place, an interim guy until Hartnell is ready.

Hopefully no controversy in this one, as the last games had plenty of it

Is Vokoun starting for the Preds tonight?

I'm just wondering because I noticed that the Preds played yesterday.

Vokoun will start, as Mason played against the Jackets.

Yes...Mason started for us last night, so I'm sure Vokoun will be in net tonight.

Will it be Garon or Labarbera for LA tonight?

Labarbera gets the start for the Kings tonight. I'm a little worried because this will be his first game back from a long absense do to "family issues." I'm worried about his mental state, and the fact that he may be cold. Should be interesting to see how he responds tonight.

I like our chances mucn better since we are at home. 2-8-1 is an interesting stat for LA on Thanksgiving. Does anybody know our Turkey Day record?

make no mistake, this is a tough homestand..LA,CAL,DAL,MIN and then the first eastern conference game against PHIL... every point in these 10 will be important

one little unimportant note, if we beat LA outright tonight, we would win the season series from them (third of the four games this year, would give us 5 points to their 2 in the series)

I wouldn't mind going down to the game, but I'll just watch it on Center Ice.

Did someone move the Preds and Kings to the same division without telling either team? They've sure been facing each other a lot. Should be a good one.

Vokoun sounds like he is making some huge saves early in the game.

Preds with a few chances too.
