Antropov for Comrie

Long time lurker, first time caller...

I've read a lot of posts about Comrie and Edmonton's need for a big centre.. What about Big Nik for Comrie?

(yes I'm a Leaf fan)

Sorry, didn't see it here earlier... I've heard of the Antropov for Brewer proposals - but those are just plain silly (Leaf fans do this in a heart-beat)..

I thought Antropov for Comrie might be doable... or at the very least debatable...

probably fairly close in value... perhaps a mid to late round pick going to the Oilers. Don't see the point for the deal for the leafs though. I mean Comrie is a center only. And with Mats and Joe there don't expect Comrie to sign on a team where he'll be headed for fourth line duties.

I'd like to see Sundin on the wing...

Sundin - Comrie - Mogilny
Nolan - Nieuwie - Roberts

huge pass, antropov has been injured every year in the league, and furthermore his skating would not fit the Oilers style, i also think he can become an excellent playmaking center but his finishing skills are somewhat suspect to me at this point and i feel (yes i know i have a huge run on sentence) that we need more of a goal-scoring center in there or we can just roll with the current line-up.

No Antropov. Either a goal scorer in return, a #1 pick, or else a #3 Dman

I'd do that deal in a heartbeat, but I know I'm pretty much alone in thinking that way. Always liked Antropov.

You're not alone, L-Tide

I'd love to get Antropov in Edmonton, and would be willing to sacrifice Comrie.

Throw in a new pair of knees with Antropov and we can start talking.

Is Markov a Yote?

How's he been doing? What's his contract?

Danii Markov makes $2.7 million and plays for the Carolina Hurricanes and I guess hes ok a plus 2 on a not so good Carolina team. I do not wish to trade Comrie for Nik straight up actually I don't like trading with the Leafs in general just bad karma(don't really know what I mean by that)

yes, I have posted before how I think he'd be a good fit for the Oilers.... just don't know if the Canes are at all interested in moving him.

many of big nik's popints were when he was paired with sundin and/or mogilny. On his own, he doesn't create a lot.

I think horcoff would put up better numbers than nik in the same circumstances.

Done deal

I'd do Antropov for Comrie in a new york second. Antropov is a 23 year old version of bobby holik. He has size, power, grit, defense, and physicality. He would answer a glaring hole that has plagued the oilers for a decade: a big, second liner center. What the hell is not to like?

Health problems? Antropov has had them, but he's young, and you're not going to bet a more picture perfect player than antropov for this team. Imagine an antropov-torres-isbister/smyth line? Scary.

Nik is a play making center. He was making the plays when playing with Mats and Almo - they were finishing them off. Yes, he was creating chances when by himself; thats how he got himself promoted to first line duty in the first place.

Antrovpov is better then what you say - he did earn himself a promotion to the top line. But offensively he doesn't have a very high potential. His career potential is probably as a 30-30 man. Comrie has already done that in his career - Comrie's offensive supremacy would require the leafs send something with Nik for Comrie.

Yep, no Comrie for you.... I know who I'd rather have - and the un-biased poster would agree with me 95% of the time.

yeah, nik beat out reichel and travis green for that first/second line centre job. That is good enough for me.
