Game: San Jose Sharks vs. Dallas Stars
Time: 5:30 PM
Let's finish the worst Novemember ever on a good note.
This is my first GDT so I'm hoping to bring some good luck with it.
By the way: I had a dream last night where the Sharks were firmly in control of a game, up by 3 or 4, and it was glorious. Let's hope I have some psychic powers. I do have some faith, as in my dream, Nabokov let up a really soft goal to slim the Sharks lead to 4-1.
I also had a dream I'd get free lunch today, but so far that doesn't look to be the case so take this with a grain of salt.
Won't be upset if I'm hoarse from all the cheering.
(Sharks TV director Frank Albin knows where I'll be sitting so has said I'll be on the broadcasts. Plan on wearing white/road jersey, Sharks' teal Santa hat. Two rows behind the benches in HSBC; don't know behind which team. Upper deck in Air Canada Centre.)
wow you gotta be kidding me.....what is rw on??...takin in a little too much zamboni fumes if you ask me. maybe schaefer is somehow in his doghouse or sumthing....although i cant imagine how.
I'm not a Sharks fan so I don't know as much about them as you do but Nabokov has to play his way out of this IMO. Schaefer has played great but in all honesty he's probably going to the AHL when Toskala gets back.
this is probably the saddest ctiuation a coach can be in. On one hand we have a goalie that should be in the top ranks of those active today but can't fight his demons and is playing like hes in the bottom five.
On the other hand we have a rookie who could potentially become the next Nabokov, but hes third string weather we like it or not because of Toskala.
If Shaefer is put in, theres a chance he'll resume his hot streak and pull the sharks out, but putting a cold goalie on the bench won't do Nabokov any good.
To put Nabokov in puts a cold goalie into a game and each passing game piles on more frustration onto him and onto his team, creating a lovely snowball effect of a very painfull loosing streak. The quesion is how long is it going to take before he becomes the goalie we remember from last season.
To ice the cake, the defence, although getting better, is still leaving the goalie naked too much.
I don't know the solution. Someone give me a magic wand or someone sacrifice a pig to the hockey gods or something
