Official GDT: 12/01 - NYR vs PIT

Vs.

NYR - 16-7-3, 8-2-2 home
Pitt - 7-12-6, 4-6-3 away

7:00 PM - MSG

" Steve Rucchin, who will return tonight after missing two games with back pain, has won 49.2 percent."

" Though Jaromir Jagr missed nearly the entire practice rehabbing the hip problem that became an issue last week, No. 68 is expected to play tonight. . . . Martin Rucinsky, out since suffering an MCL sprain Oct. 29, skated in his old spot on left wing with Rucchin in the middle and Marcel Hossa on the right, and likely will return tonight. "

"Jed Ortmeyer will not be available; he will attend his grandmother's funeral in Nebraska that was postponed from yesterday due to bad weather conditions."

YES!!!! I've been waiting hours for this GDT!! Wooo! Can't wait for the game. I'll be in section 230. Anyone else going to the game?

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!

Prediction:

5-3 Rangers

Jagr (2)
Rucinsky
Prucha
Betts (all 4 lines scoring for the Rangers)

Crosby, Pirjeta, and Christensen for the Pens.

"With Fedor Tytuin suffering from the flu, the Blueshirts had five defensemen available yesterday, and thus moved newly acquired right wing Colton Orr to the blue line for practice. Should Tyutin be unable to go tonight, the Rangers will recall a defenseman from Hartford, likely Ivan Baranka or Thomas Pock, with Bryce Lampman out with a separated shoulder."

Does anyone know if Mario is back with the Pens? I beleive we will see Fleury in goal tonight. Good goalie match-up...

You missed this part...

Tom Poti, who suffered a groin pull that forced him out of last Saturday's game against the Caps after the second period, has not skated in the interim and will not play tonight. Jason Strudwick will move back to D
I'd love to see Baranka or Pock!

Good to see Strudwick back on D. Let's see what Orr can do, and hopefully Ruchinsky will get his scoring touch back tonight.

Good stuff gdflynn with the early GDT.

BTW 'Lion of the north' over on the flyers board has set a new standard for GDT's here . Anyone talented/have enough time to do that?

gdflynn doesn't have the talent or ambition to do that. he's too busy catching me in the standings.

If i got divorced, quit my job, and ignored my 2 yr. old son. (Who, btw, repeats everything i say. i swear i heard him say "get off the ice, Poti!!, the other night..honest!).

Besides, 400 posts later, the opening post for the GTD is an afterthought.

Considering LotN's old avatar, I'm guessing he's a guy with a bit of spare time on his hands . . .

You are raising your son with wisdom, gdflynn1.

November 2001... just read it. i like answering my own questions too.

also... Fluery/Lundqvist

and

"Rookie center Sidney Crosby has been held without a point in two straight games for the first time this season.

Mario Lemieux has also been held without a point in the last two contests after returning from a stomach virus."

thats not good.

According to BB ORR WILL PLAY TONIGHT

http://ordinaryleastsquare.typepad.c...shirtbulletin/

"Rangers return to action tonight -- Jagr (hip flexor) and Rucchin (back) will definitely play, Rucinsky (knee) is a possibility, Poti (groin) is unlikely, and Tyutin (flu) is unknown. Newcomer Colton Orr will likely make his Ranger debut tonight. Weekes is on IR but faced shots in practice and could return as early as Saturday. Ortmeyer (funeral) is away tonight, but is expected back by Saturday."

The only way that he is playing is if one for Rucchin or Rucinsky is not.

How about Orr starts and at the opening puck drop flips the gloves and rematches with Roy or Vandenbussche, or goes after Murley who Ville fought back on the 12th. This could get interesting.

Whoa, that was amazing. Almost as good as your vids.

Anyways, I'm excited to see Orr. What a great name.

i don't think we need orr for the crosguins. i wouldn't mind having him up for the caps, though.

terrible news about ortmeyer. hopefully they can add the 6th in a row for him tonight and then he can take all his frustration out on the caps.
