Bertuzzi to have an extension signed by the end of the week..
.. according to SportsNet's Nick Kypreos. Word out of Vancouver is that Burke & Bertuzzi have agreed to terms on a deal, but in a deal of this magnitude, Burke must 'OK' it with Canuck owner John McCaw. Apperantly McCaw has never refused a request to spend money on resigning players by Burke, so there is major hope for optimism.
Kypreos reported that the figure will be 'around $7 million - 8 million after bonuses'. I have personally heard that Bertuzzi is asking for, essentially, the exact same deal Naslund has right now (ie: This year), but with even more bonuses.
This would be very good news for small to mid market NHL teams, to see a 'bottom half' team resign a top 20 player in the NHL to a big extension.
Oh right, forgot to mention, the extension would be for 3 years. I am not sure if they are tearing up the contract he has right now, or just adding to it. So minimum 3 years, possibly 4.
Bert and Naslund arn't earning their contracts right now, man Bertuzzi is killing me in my hockey pool.

Yeah Naslund and Bertuzzi really haven't hit it off yet.....but they will..Bertuzzi did have a goal, but it was disallowed tonight b/c Naslund was cross-checked into the goal as the puck went in :/.
Start of the Season i Traded Bertuzzi and Briere for JSG, Roloston [sp?] and MacInnis. Not sure how it will work in the end, but I won week 1 in my yahoo league because of the trade.

Somewhat off topic: I heard a rumor that Naslund is nursing a groin injury. Bertuzzi has looked great, his points will come, but Naslund hasn't, which makes me wonder if the rumor I heard was true.
there are only two guys worth 8 mill per - lidstrom and bertuzzi. I am a small market team fan and even Iwould say that the nucks are doing well if they sign bertuzzi to a 3 year 21-24 mill deal.
BTW, on Hockey Night in Toronto, it was rumoured that this deal replaces the current deal and adds two years. So bert would be ufa after three years, including this one.

That's cool. Idealy, I'd like to keep Bertuzzi until he's at least 32 years of age. After that, well, maybe it would be a good time to trade him - that is, unless we've gotten a Cup by then, in which case I'd like to keep any guys who were getting us cups!
As for Naslund, yeah he does have a groin injury, but I don't think it's hurting his play. Naslund has actually played very well if you asked me. He was the key on the Morrison goal today, but he didn't get a point. As I'm sure he would tell you, if the team is winning games, it shouldn't be a big issue. Though I'm sure the rest of us would rest easier if he popped a goal against Detroit.
Crow's been increasing the ice time of the Sedins.
The Sedins ice-time is very similar to what they received last season, around 13 min/game. As for Bertuzzi, hes around the same ammount as last year as well, around 18-20 min/game.
