The Kings, having just saved a lot of money on their car insurance by switching to Geico, obviously saved a few hundred more dollars by having Jules fly from Manchester to Ottawa instead of Chicago

Monarchs now at 9-forwards on their roster, "savings" continue...

Reading placed 2 players on their 7-day IR yesterday to make room for Roussin & Bernie. It's gonna suck for them if the Narchs start cleaning them out...

Edit: The Narch's just announced that Bernie has been recalled. He should have never been sent down to begin with...

so the problem is: 3 for the last 45 on the power play, and the answer is: Jeff Giuliano?

I think maybe there are "other" problems that Giuliano is being brought back to address...

I'm guessing this is because Luc and JR aren't starting tonight.

I think JR will be in the lineup, but maybe not Robitaille- though there would be hell to pay if Murray didn't play Luc on Saturday in Montreal.

I'm curious about peoples' opinions on Tambellini? He looked kind of lost and intimidated and a bit clumsy against Chicago- typical 1st game in the bigs jitters, I think. It'll be interesting to see if they keep him in the lineup, and how he does. Anyone who's seen him play more have a better sense of his ability and prospects for making it in the NHL?

Monarchs could solve this problem by adding a tough guy to replace Flinn. There are tons of guys on two-way deals out there and the Kings would be able to call him up esp. agaisnt teams like Toronto and Florida coming up..

This team toughness is not gonna go well for Cowan and Avery who have there work cut out for them agains the McGrattan's, Neil's, Domi's, Belak's, and Cairn's of the world...

Actually the Kings need to solve it. The Monarchs sign guys to AHL deals...

Either way, another tougher type player would help at this point for both teams...

Isn't this just a way for a veteran guy to save face and not be a 'healthy scratch'? Whatever your opinion of Roenick (and mine is pretty **** low right now), this is a guy who has played through concussions and wired jaws. There would need to be photographic and DNA evidence of projectile vomit for me to believe that JR really has the flu...

Does anyone believe that a "flu" would really sideline this guy against the NHL's premiere team while his own squad needs all hands on deck? Get some sleep, tape it up, and play hockey!

I'm leaning towards believing that this is AM's way to deal with him. Less than 48 hours after a very thinly veiled calling out in the newspaper, a guy like JR just doesn't "get sick"...

And btw, how do you guys find this stuff so early? Props.

True, multiball, but the main reason for benching a player like Roenick isn't removing him from the lineup; it's sending a message to the rest of the team. If you say that JR won't be playing because he's sick, you erase the benefit.

The actual answer is completely overhauling the system...but that isn't going to happen.

Disagree- the rest of the team still knows what it is, but it won't make the stats or the papers as a healthy scratch, so it saves him face that way. Also, I don't think the message is necessarily being sent to the team as much as to JR [and Luc] himself.

I have no link, as it was a phone call, but I promise you, JR was NOT well enough to play effectively... of course, that's all relative based on his play most of the season.

No enforcer, AHL players and a power play that wouldn't scare Ichabod Crane. Thanks AM for another lost season.

Please watch Ottawa and explain how you don't need a physical team. Their skill in comlimented by physical players who pound and pound. We have AHL 175 pounders who are "energy players". We also have no chance of getting into the playoffs with this roster.
