http://www.geocities.com/nyr1994trib...lar.html#stats

We are, after 27 games into the season, 2 games off the 1993-1994 pace

means nothign I know, but just a little bit of window shopping.

Wow, Kovalev was 2nd on the team in PIMs with 154 only behind Beuk's 170. What the hell was he doing? I remember him pulling people's legs out, soaring through the air to really splatter people and boarding.

He was like a Jedi seduced by the Sith with his sticking/slashing also.

I liken Prucha to be this currnet team's Kovelev. Albeit minus the bone head penalties and Prucha being better defensively.

A young player with untapped offensive potential.

Yeah, young Kovalev was ****ing insane. I'd say that Ovechkin reminds me of Kovalev in style and size, except that Ovechkin is a much smarter player all around. He single-handedly obliterated Rangers last night.

When Kovy was 200 lbs instead of his now-227, he was as explosive as Ovechkin. Of course, other than that, there's really no comparison between the two.
