it`s about time

we are finally playing some kids, and actually giving them a shot to produce. I know we have to wait til their ready, but enough is enough.
If a Brent Burns can play with Minny, why can`t we give a kid a regular job? Why waste 4 mil on a 37 journeyman in Mckay , for what maybe 10 goals, on a fourth line, on a team going nowhere? These should of been
Ryder and Ward`s jobs, these aren`t first line jobs here folks, these are
3rd line role players , surely we play someone. Gainey looks like he will
play them in roles that make sense. Give Ribs a shot on scoring line, then
decide to keep him or not. So far the rooks have played well, next year as we flush out 4-6 more deadwood, we will finally have some sort of a foundation to start with . But stop paying dumb money on marginal , non
impact players on a team that is rebuilding, Savard had no choice to fill holes when he took over but he went way overboard on too many players .

THE FUTURE LOOKS GOOD GO HABS

Yes, Savard was just filling spots with vet's until the young guys are/were ready. It's not a fluke that vet's contracts run out about the same time the prospects will hopefully be deemed ready. That, I beleive was always the plan, and we are now seeing it in action. The key though, imo, is not to rush any young prospects, giving them the time to get ready. Burns in Minnesota, has obviuosly proven to Minny's coaching staff to be NHL ready, but you can't expect most 18, 19 and some 20 year old to be NHL ready with no or very little pro experience.

In Minnesota, Lemaire has stated that he thinks it harms a player's development to send him back to the juniors at some point. That's why they're keeping Burns with the team. Lemaire said he will insert Burns in the lineup against teams he can have success, and bring him in like he did with PM Bouchard last year.

I wish we could do the same with our top prospects like Higgins.
